hi everybody - I'm just now making it to the computer long enough to even open up Mozilla... the day started out insane - fighting with a situation at work that took me out of my office and out in the field. I had a hair appointment already scheduled for just after work hours, so I threw up my hand at 3:00 pm and went to the salon early and got my nails done too... i feel like me again! I haven't gotten my nails done in three months, and I like my hair cut again for the first time in ages. If I hadn't put a stop to the chaos of today someone would have gotten hurt... I'm calling the manicure break a mandatory job task!

Amanda, midwife, denial - sorry your days were so crazy yesterday! Josephine, tomorrow will be better!

Hi to everyone else who posted! I just hit the advanced button and can't go back to reference without losing what I've done so far...

I ended yesterday OP, today I'm trending to be OP, though I'm starving at the moment and might slip a little if DH doesn't head home soon.

B: smoothie, Trader Joe's chocolate protein powder today. Love it in milk, not so good in a fruit smoothie...
S: no snack...
L: 1/4 Ciabbata Roast & 1/2 steamed veggie cup from Jason's Deli - haven't had them in a long time, vendor brought take out
Nothing since then except water, planned rest of evening...
D: ground turkey breast browned in spices & hot sauce served over rice
S: chocolate milk with protein powder, Nilla Wafers or apple with fat free dip

Exercise: last night I did work on the Weider for 65 minutes (I actually lost track of time... that has never happened when I exercised before...) then did a ten minute yoga stretch. Today I did 45 minutes on the elliptical this AM, will probably take the rest of the night off.

Good night all!

It feels so incredibly ironic to have had a POP day, yet still feel so miserable.
Oh gosh. You have described many a day of mine to a "T". I really know just how you feel. And like Amanda says, tomorrow WILL be better. For you too Denial.

Shannon, I'm liking the idea of your mandatory job task. Good for you!

Wednesday was POP. I've got a great string going here. Haven't had this in a long while.

I made the absolute cutest/tastiest dinner tonight. I made salmon in parchment paper. A little envelope like thing. With loads of veggies. It was SOOO easy and SOOO delicious. And a great presentation to boot.

Got to get some sleep now. I'm headed to the mall in the morning to do some shopping. Night night.

Never got here til now - 9:30 pm! Yikes, almost bed time.

Yesterday an evening meeting got rescheduled from 7:30 back to 6 pm which was good in terms of not having to go home and then out again, but it meant I had to change up my stir fry in favor of my emergency frozen dinner. Calorie wise not too different, but sodium - yikes. But it kept me out of the meeting food - except the grapes which were excellent!

Today:

B - cheerios w/1% milk; ww toast w/pb
S - hmmm, don't remember eating one?
L - we had an open house in our community room and they were serving awesome little chicken turnover things. Chicken, onions and spices. They wee only about 4" across, so while the crust was I'm sure hi cal, it was good and filling.
S - ff latte
D - last night's stir fry which was awesome!! And I used the rest of my zucchini to make bread to take to Friday night's party (a girl's night for a co-worker who's starting chemo next Monday)

Exercise: lap swimming - and I can do one more lap, 6 now, and all the laps I can do both lengths without stopping, though I still need to stop between laps. I can't believe how fast I'm improving. I'm going to take a short series of lessons 2x a week for 4 weeks, just to improve my stroke.

Today is a better day.

I'm starting out with a positive attitude, and I'm going to pt the negative stressful stuff out of mind. Worrying never solves anything any way!

Exercise: Ran 5.08 miles

Food:
Bagel with natural peanut butter, coffee with stevia.
Black bean burrito.
Apple.
Kofta curry and potato knish, chopped onions in vinegar.

My steak dinner was great last night but even though I cut my steak in half and only had 2 potatoes, I was still really full and felt "bad" that I had eaten so much. I recognize this is not healthy thinking. I had a small steak, 2 small red potatoes and a pile of sauteed zucchini and onions. If I got full, it was from all the zucchini!

Thursday

B - Trader Joe's fat free Greek yogurt with honey (120 calories), sliced strawberries (50 calories)

L - Big salad - romaine, 1 chopped roma tomato, 6 kalamata olives, pepperocini, red onion, 1 heated/crumbled veggie burger (100 calories), cucumber dressing (1/4 of a container - 80 calories), broccoli slaw

S - tangelo (100 calories)

S - cheese string (60 calories), mini dill pickles

D - Mandalinn's parmesan chicken over spaghetti squash, peas

Glory~those potatoes look so good, how did you stop at two? I recently had one (fairly big) red potato cooked in a similar manner. You slice it, but not all the way through, then nuke it til it is done. Then you mist it with olive oil and put on all the seasonings and then bake it until it starts to brown. Yum.

Plan~
B~shredded pork with cheese and salsa
S~2 clementines (the last two)
L~Lean Cuisine
S~Activia yogurt
D~sesame chicken stir fry
45 minutes at the gym (it felt good to get back there yesterday)

Today I tried something new and went to the track...I walked 1 mile then ran 1 1/2 laps (farther than I've ever run), and walked the rest to make it 2 miles. It took about half an hour, and it's something I want to do again! I just HAVE to get good shoes!!! My feet are killing me!

When I got there the Cross country team was working out..I'd intended to run more, but couldn't bring my floppy body to lumber around the track with all these little 110 pound girls running circles around me. I waited 'til they left to do any jogging at all....

Anyway, food's not much better today, but it's workable... at just over 1,600 calories total, which leaves a little wiggle room later...

Breakfast: 6 pack of PB crackers again and coffee with sweetener.
Snack: Quaker 100 calorie granola bar.
Lunch: 2 whole wheat tortillas with 3/4 cup leftover rice and 1/4 cup 2% milk shredded cheddar cheese. And tea with sweetener.
Snack: 1 ounce bag of pretzels.
Dinner: Homemade pizza (WAAAAAY fewer calories than Pizza Hut...and almost as good), with pepperoni and fat free mozzarella cheese. And some whole kernel corn because dangit, I like it.

Way to go on the running! Ignore the other girls and do your thing, don't let anybody stand in the way of your cool workout!

And get some good shoes, your feet are VERY important!

Good afternoon...

Finished last night OP, DH got home right after I posted last night so I made dinner and didn't give in to the snack craving... I did a 20 minute cardio yoga video last night, with the thought that it would stretch my arms and shoulders after working them the night before, might have been a bad idea... they hurt a lot last night and today... before the yoga they were just a little stiff... thinking about making today my exercise free day instead of tomorrow because of it...

Food plan:
B: smoothie
S: cinnamon stick flavored coffee with 1/2 tsp raw sugar, 1 tsp vanilla caramel creamer
S: Chicken of the Sea Salmon Cup
L: grilled chicken sandwich
S: one of my assorted trail mixes
D: Tomato Basil Hamburger Helper made with 10 oz. of ground white turkey, might have a glass of wine with my HH to jazz it up a little.
S: apple with caramel dip (gave in to graham crackers last night instead of the planned apple snack)

Exercise: still thinking, but likely off from exercise today.

I should've just run anyway, I know...but it was intimidating! All these tiny little girls running lap after lap after lap...

I'll admit it...I'm afraid of high schoolers who are in better shape than I am!!!

Oh wow, I made Amanda's parmesan chicken for dinner - it is SOOOO good. Thanks again, Amanda!!! Half a spaghetti squash, 4 oz of chicken, a little sauce/cheese and 1 cup of peas is a huge, filling low calorie wonderful meal!

I did use the panko, but instead of the whole wheat flour, I used a little finely ground almonds. I like the heart healthy aspect of sneaking in a few nuts and it really seems to keep the chicken super moist!

As was I once upon a time. But then I stuck with it and one day this summer I was at the track with my running buddy and we were running laps and the girls soccer team was running and.....we were faster than most of them.

Yeah, they were probably dogging it.

And yeah, I couldn't outrun a single girl on my daughter's cross country team....but I also watch the cross country races and I can out run some of the girls on the other teams. But that doesn't matter. What matters is that all of us....as WOMEN....(hi Gary!) are going out there and running and being fast. For us.

I was POP yesterday and this morning the scale had a little whoosh bringing me to within 1.4 pounds to goal! Yay!

Today's plan:

Exercise: Push mow the lawn sprint-style (which is about 1.5 miles of sprinting), plus 30 minutes Exercycle.

Bagel, natural pb, coffee with stevia.
Channa masala, big salad with lots of tomatoes, cucs, onions, summer squash.
Apple.
Ezekiel pasta with asparagus, smart balance, and nutritional yeast.

This Sunday will be 5 months since I went totally vegan, I'm really surprised at how easy it has been!
