Oh, and I'm on 1350-1450 a day, which is where I try to aim when I'm near the top of my maintenance weight range and want to get back down (but isn't quite as low as I get when I go OVER my maintenance range).
Thanks for the info on calories, I'm pretty in line with everyone ranging anywhere from 1200 (rare day where I'm not super hungry) to 1500 (more common), still trying to lose.
I was not POP today. In fact, for the first time in 167 days I binged this morning. At least I cut it off early and have stayed completely away from food the rest of the day.
And then, once my stomach settled, I did the weirdest workout which consisted of frantic alternating between my exercycle and running laps around my house (waiting for a call, so couldn't go far from home so I resorted to running around my house for 3 miles, that's alot of laps!). Uh... I give myself bonus point for getting in the exercise but must say I didn't like the weirded out, frantic mental state.
I now must prove to myself that having binged, I get get right back into abstinence. I've been dreading this moment and here it is.
Plan for tomorrow:
Exercise: A normal run in the morning.
Food:
Bagel with natural pb, coffee with stevia
Vegetable curry with a potato knish
Orange
Black bean burrito
Strawberries
Josephine - I did a workout once at my parents house for lack of available equipment...do a set of lifting heavy in the living room, run up and down stairs twice...do another set, run up and down stairs twice again...the heartrate was up for an hour, and that's what matters!
Josephine, great job picking yourself right up and getting back on track! I think I can appreciate the difference in mental state between a frenzied workout coming from a negative place, but Amanda's right, at least you got your heart rate up and blood moving! I hope today will be better.
Jessica, thanks, I know you're trying to be helpful. There's not much to say, I think - I know all the "tips and tricks" (not that I think I know everything, certainly!), I just need to do more mental work to change my behaviors. But thank you for you support!
POP yesterday and feeling good about my workout this morning. I worked out early b/c I'm going out tonight. I'm going with a big group of friends to try a fondue restaurant's "Ladies Night" where you get a cheese dip, chocolate dip, and 2 glasses of wine for $22. I'm going more for the company, I'm just going to be on my best behavior about eating only until I'm moderately full.
Wednesday's plan: (edited to reflect what really happened)
gym - ran 2 miles, walked 2.5 miles, weights - 25 min. back workout
B - 1 c. Kashi Honey Sunshine cereal, 1 c. sk milk, coffee w/ 1 T. h&h, sm banana
S - 1 oz raw walnuts
L - 1 sl. ww bread, 2.5 oz. tuna w/ 1/2 T lt mayo, 1 c. carrots & 1 c. celery, 1/4 c. Feta & spinach dip
S - 6 oz. lt yogurt, fruit salad, South Beach Living Peanut Butter protein bar (I was starving! and protein was low)
D - The Melting Pot for ladies night - I didn't do too badly. Honestly, they don't give you enough food at ladies night for me to do too much damage. I could have stopped eating a few bites sooner but even though I wasn't too full, my stomach was upset with the "different" food later.
goal: 2000 cals.
actual: I calculated 2300 on Fitday, guesstimating the fondue part in there.
Wednesday's plan:
B - muesli, milk, OJ
S - plum, apple
L - more leftover quiche
S - yogurt
D - leftover rice & beans w/rotiss. chx & salsa, green beans
Exercise - 60 min class, 30 min wog w/dog (c25k wk 1), UBWO 3lb/10rep
Total - 1367 (14.3/20/65.8 fat/protein/carb)

Just a quick check in. Last weekend was nearly on plan. Not perfect though. I am pleased with it. It's been the very best I've been in many weekends. So far, so good for Monday & Tuesday.

B - Thomas's Light English Muffin, Deli Turkey, Laughing Cow
S - Pear
L - Leftovers - WW penne w/ ground chicken, roasted veggies, tomato sauce
S - Greek yogurt w/ SF coconut syrup and pineapple
S - Nectarine
D - Spicy Ginger-Garlic Chicken Stirfry with a mess of veggies over brown and wild rice.
S - NSA Ice Cream bar.
Was OP. Moved some stuff around, but still OP calorie-wise (actually better off nutrition-wise..)
Plan for tomorrow may be a bit weird...I have a doctor's appointment in the morning, and one of the tests that would normally be run for the condition I'm going in for would require fasting. Because of that, I'm not eating until after the appointment, just in case (I'd rather get it all taken care of at once, the visit and the tests). So breakfast will be late...hopefully it doesn't throw me off too badly.
B - English muffin, 1 egg, deli turkey breast
S - Pear
L - Leftovers - Spicy Ginger Chicken Stirfry w/ a ton of veggies, over brown rice
S - Popcorn
S - Greek yogurt w/ pineapple and SF coconut syrup
D - 14 bean soup with chicken sausage and veggies (onion, carrot, celery, zucchini)...the beans are soaking as we speak!
S - NSA Ice Cream Bar
E - 60 on the elliptical
I just hope they don't want me to do a glucose tolerance...is it wrong to say that I'd be really bummed if I had to drink 50g of pure glucose? I mean..ugh. How do you adjust the plan for the (clearly inevitable) sugar crash later?
Amanda, I hope your fasting and the ensuing tests all work out.
Wednesday was POP.
I had a little scare though for a second or 2. Nothing major. I met a good friend yesterday morning/early afternoon. She asked for my help. She's making a big party and wanted me to do some shopping with her. Okay done. We had a bit of time left til I had to be home. I left plenty of time for lunch and to get ready for work. She says, "Okay, how bout' some lunch?". I rarely see her during the week, she's lves a bit away and is one of my weekend buddies. But she made this special trip in to do the shopping. Right away I say no. I just can't mess with my weekday plan. But then I realize it's such a rarity that I get to spend time with her. So, I say okay. Figure I'll have a salad or something. But I'm still a little nervous about it, as I HATE deviating during the week and I know that whatever I get will be more calories and not as filling as the food I normally eat. I think about it some more and ask her if she's okay coming back to my house and I'll make lunch. She says sure. She's aware how strict I am during the week.
Well, we get home and I make a fabulousm enormous salad with tuna. She could not believe how "stocked" my fridge was and how I whipped up this salad so quickly. I pointed out to her the difference between my at home lunch and a restaurant lunch. The calories and the volume and yes, the taste as well. She was really amazed, I must say. Very impressed. Says she must do this for herself some times. I said, "Yes, you really should."
Disaster averted. Everyone happy. I LOVE my plan. I really do.
I had an amazingly POP day yesterday! Just under 1400 cals and a great workout. Woohoo! I am so glad I got a good workout and my knees aren't dying today. Now I am totally pumped to get back in shape!
Robin - GREAT job bringing your friend home for lunch!!! That was a brilliant idea.
Thursday's plan:
B - muesli, milk
S - apple
L - more quiche (that recipe sure made a huge one!)
S - apple, yogurt
D - one bite of bread, flavored iced tea, half piece of mahi mahi with mango salsa, roasted asparagus, roasted potatoes, one bite creme brulee, four bites cheesecake, five bites tiramisu
Exercise - 30 min walk w/dog

I edited yesterday plan to reflect what I ate at the Fondue Restaurant with the girls. I came in at 2300 cals, about, so slightly over where I hoped to be. It was tasty but definitely wasn't what anyone at the table would call a balanced meal. We were all so hungry for the cheese course we ate it very fast, and then sat there eating the apples and veggie dippers b/c we were still hungry, then ate more dessert than normal b/c we were still so hungry and this was the end of our "meal". I was full at the end of the night, certainly, but though I'm glad I tried something new and had fun with the girls I don't know if I'd go back here.
Robin, what a GREAT job staying OP! And what a wonderful alternative to going out to lunch. I was in a similar situation a month or two ago but I ended up just not meeting a friend for lunch, but feeling guilty especially b/c she is a newly SAHM, extremely social, and I know being at home so often is just killing her. I thought afterwards I should have asked her over to the house to eat with me - I definitely will next time!
I have noticed that people also comment to me about how "stocked" my fridge is. I wonder if having a well-stocked fridge is extremely common amongst maintainers who cook? I think I have every condiment, every type of mustard, relish, pickle, salsa, sauce, and low fat salad dressing known to humans!
Amanda, I hope the fasting doesn't throw you off.
Allison, how are you doing? POP?
Thursday: (edited)
B - 1 c. Kashi Honey Sunshine cereal, 1 c. sk milk, coffee
S - 1 1/2 c. strawberries
L - 1 sl. ww bread, 2.5 oz. tuna w/ 1/2 T lt mayo, 1 c. carrots & 1 c. celery
S - 6 oz. lt yogurt, fruit salad, 1 oz. raw walnuts
D - Spinach & Cranberry stuffed chicken breasts with quinoa, steamed green beans
S - 2 small homemade peach popsicles
total cal: 1504
No gym after my podiatrist's visit - numbing agents and sharp knives and cutters were involved.
Megan - I'm impressed you did so well at the melting pot! I went there once and DH and I stuffed ourselves so much that we had stomach aches before we even left, and spent a couple hours after we got home laying on the couch trying to calm our tummies down!
The last Wednesday of each month (at least at the one near me), The Melting Pot has "ladies night" where for $22 you get 2 glasses of wine, a cheese fondue, and a chocolate fondue. Since a lot of my friends and I are budget-conscious we thought this would be a more inexpensive way to try the restaurant. Between 11 of us there were 3 burners/pots of each cheese & chocolate. They give you unlimited dippers but won't refill the pots unless you pay for another one. With 4 of us to one pot it made it hard to overdo it, particularly with the cheese, which went really fast. Some people ended up getting a sandwich afterward. I was full at the end but definitely didn't have a balanced meal!
