Wait! you mean I'm probably going to have a collection of "fat" clothes, as I have a collection of "skinny" ones now? Oi I don't think the closet can handle both!

I have been shopping several times in the last few months and I find stuff I like then think "What's the point of buying this?" knowing that I still have weight to lose. So I only buy clothes at the moment if they are a real bargain - like less than £5.

I have deliberately got rid of ALL my too big clothes - with the exception of some stretchy things that went in the attic with my maternity clothes.

I have no intention of ever getting back into them again. if gaining weight means going out and spending money on new clothes rather than getting a bag of 'fat' clothes out of the attic, then that's got to be an incentive to keep it off. I have no intention of ever buying anything in a size 12 (US 8) or above ever again. Which means my boobs have to go down, as at the moment I am in a size 10 (US 6) bottom and size 12 (US 8) top. Which makes buying dresses hard, as someone ele posted, but I have the opposite problem. I can get into slinky dresses in a 10 that fit beautifully over my hips and waist, but won't zip up over the boobs.

Once I've stopped feeding my daughter I have hopes that I will drop a couple of cup sizes off my F cup girls and I'll finally be able to stuff them in a size 10.

Ohmygosh, Ann Taylor has some CUTE sweaters/camis! Think these match closely enough (you'll have to select the correct colors)?

Robsia - I guess the point of getting some new clothes - at least for me - is that I always feel better in clothes that fit me well. I always seem to regret it if I try to "get by" with things that are the wrong size, especially for work clothing. But great job getting rid of the things you don't want to grow back into!

Glory - you have a great eye for clothes. I should hire you to coordinate my wardrobe!

Wearing one of my new fall sweaters today (since it's in the 40's!) in deep rose color. Love it!

I'm not telling anyone else they shouldn't get new clothes

It's just that I can't justify the expense for me personally, as I'm skint at the moment. I cannot afford to spend a fortune on clothes I might only wear for a month or two.

Cool Online shopping rules (and also sucks)

I tend to do a lot of shopping online as I never have time on the weekend to hit the stores (and am too dirty and dishevelled duirng the weekday evenings ).

American online shopping is waaay better than what's available in Canada. Unfortunately I tend to see really cute things, place an order, and then find out, at the very end that they don't ship to Canada.

I don't know how free "free trade" is but it ain't happenin' online much. I guess the bright side is that I'm not spending as much.

Actually made it to the store yesterday. Those colors do NOT match! They were having a pretty good sale - spend 75.00 and get a free cami! So, I got the sweater and a really pretty cream/lace cami. I did really like the satiny camis, but I really don't have anything they go with and 50.00 is pretty steep for a cami. AT also has some absolutely fabulous cashmere sweaters. They had a sale to buy 1 sweater get one half off, but I just couldn't get a 168.00 sweater to get another one for 80.00! Plus, the sweaters have HUGE plastic buttons which I find a little offputting. Why put cheapo plastic on gorgeous cashmere. If the buttons had been tiny pretty shell buttons, I might have been a lot more tempted!

I love the sweater I did get, it is such a flattering fit!

I went on a MAJOR shopping spree this weekend. I went to Ann Taylor Loft because they were having a 20% off sale and I had five savings cards ($25 off each $50 I spent for each card). Somehow, despite all the sales and savings, I still ended up spending $325 there. I told DH it was my birthday present to myself!

The haul:
* A black suit jacket
* A new pair of camel courderoy trousers (I got dry-erase marker ink all over my old ones!)
* Super-comfy black pants (with the suit jacket, I now sort-of own a suit!)
* Nice light gray slacks
* A cute bright pink tee (I got one in black too)
* A cute yellow skirt
* A 3/4-sleeve v-neck gray cardigan
* A cute blouse that was yellow and dark brown with flowers on it that I can't find on the website
* A pair of black flats
* A pair of pink flats with bows

Plus my mom gave me for my birthday:
* A pink skirt
* A pink short-sleeved cardigan
* A black V-neck sweater
* A green skirt

And a couple weeks ago I got a pair of dark gray slacks from there and a black lace-trimmed camisole too. I <3 ATL, I now have almost a complete work wardrobe from there!

I BADLY need to get some new pants - most of my current pants are four sizes too large (some are even six)! Last year I bought all new cool-weather workout gear, so this year I'd like to find some nice pants for work and home. I've gotten quite a few nice long-sleeved shirts, turtlenecks, and wool pull-overs. I have red hair, so I'm always envious of women who can wear the lovely shades of maroon, crimson, and burnt orange.

Oh, my goodness! Has anyone ever bought Not Your Daughter's Jeans? Wow, they are wonderful!!! They have a "tummy tuck" model that has 4% spandex and the waistband is somewhere between the "old fogie" high waist and the super low waist that the kids like. These jeans are great!
