  • I take a lot of baths. I won't miss looking at myself and my body and thinking shameful thoughts although I try not to.
  • I won't miss wearing bigger clothes to cover my trouble areas.
    I won't miss trying to cover my belly with something (ex. pillow from a couch, a binder or folder from work, purse while riding in the car with a friend) when I sit down so I don't show my pregnant looking belly.
    I won't miss feeling embarrassed to be weighed at the doctor's office.
    I won't miss not going out because I'm embarrassed to have people who knew me from my past to see me.
    I won't miss feeling uncomfortable eating in public.
  • *I won't miss the way people's eyes divert away from you when you're overweight.

    *I won't miss the anxiety I get when sitting on a piece of furniture/etc that I'm not sure will hold my weight without creaking or making any other sound.

    *I won't miss the extra money they charge you to purchase plus-sized clothing, and to add along to it, I won't miss the fact that size 26 jeans take up more space in a suitcase, washing machine, or dresser drawer.

    *I won't miss the look of pity my family gives me when they ask if I'm seeing someone romantically, and I say no as usual.

    *I won't miss the way that my self-conscious person would blend into the background or become a wallflower.

    but most of all, I won't miss the parts of me I lost in the process of getting where I want to be
  • I wont miss eating like a saint when i'm out with friends and scarfing food down when i'm at home!
  • I sure won't miss the "hand on hip, elbow jutted out so my arm will be away from my body and it won't look so big in this picture" pose!

    ...among many things that everyone else has already said.
  • Quote: I sure won't miss the "hand on hip, elbow jutted out so my arm will be away from my body and it won't look so big in this picture" pose!

    I won't miss purposely edging or ducking out of pictures altogether. Kudos to you.

    Quote: The gleam in my doctor's eyes when he learns I'm coming in for my annual and he's in the process of adding to his retirement fund;

    Going to annual day sales and finding out that my size is sold out;

    Hearing the floors creek when I walk;

    Feeling my heart pound when I try swimming in the summer;

    The jokes about "eating for two" (and in all honesty, STILL feeling hungry)
    I agree! creaking floors, regardless of how old the floors may be, always make me feel atrocious. They mock me.
  • I won't miss making excuses to stay home when my sister invites me to the beach.
  • I won't miss being all sweaty in walmart trying to try on clothes that will inevitably look gross anyways I love that I can try on clothes and NOT SWEAT!!!
  • I won't miss the embarrassment of taking 2 seats on transport and such.
    I won't miss people calling me fat, in many and varied ways, from pointed comments to overt insult. I guess I'm a sensitive soul, that always hurts!
  • my mother commenting on "slimming" clothes.

    i bought a beautiful gown for my son's wedding last year. i tried it on for her...no comment on the lovely blue color, the way it sparkled. nope. just...

    "it's slimming"

    bleh.
  • starryblu, how horrible!

    I won't miss my stepsister's passive aggressive cutting remarks. "Oh, I like those capris! They hide things"

    really? pretty sure they can't hide my disgust for you right now!

    I get to see her next month. I can't wait to see the look on her face when she sees I've dropped weight.
  • I won't miss wearing pants or jeans in the hottest of weather because I'm too self-conscious in shorts!

    Sock it to her, RandomPaige!
  • I won't miss my thighs rubbing together (chafing is the worst).

    I won't miss being treated like I am not a human being because I am overweight.

    I won't miss having to squeeze myself into an XL or XXL because I am too embarrassed and in denial to shop at a plus size store.

    I won't miss being out of breath from running for the bus or running up flights of stairs.

    I won't miss feeling like I can't be with certain guys because they're thinner than I am.

    But most of all...

    I won't miss being mistaken for pregnant on the bus! I am just a 21 year old girl with a big stomach. It's not round!
  • I will not miss not being able to wear certain types of dresses/clothes that are fitted around the waist!
