I will make me and my health my top priority. I will ensure every decision and choice I make supports my goal of achieving my goal weight of 124 or size 6/8 by November 20, 2006. I will be proud of my focus and dedication and will celebrate each of my successes throughout the journey. I will love myself and will give myself the gift of improved health for my 30th birthday.

This is an excerpt from Chapter 4 of Jillian Michael's book, Winning by Losing:

"Having the right attitude is so important because thought is behavior – the power of mind is total, and the way you think of yourself manifests as your reality. We all know how easily negative thoughts about ourselves can lead to poor self-image, lack of confidence, hopelessness, and depression. You’ve heard about self-fulfilling prophecy, right? Well, if you tell yourself that you’ll always be fat or that you’ll never find happiness, chances are you will always be fat and you won’t ever be happy. But imagine what could be possible if you harnessed your mental power with positive thoughts."

Ok so I can't spell. It's late and I was on my soapbox. I'm back now and I took a deep breath.

Good Night ladies.

Here's my self fulfilling prophecy... I WILL stay on plan and I will loose 50 pounds (total) by Table Mt. Star Party in July.

Thanks for this thread. I think this is a wonderful idea.

This is a great idea! It has really made me stop and think about what I want in the long run.
I will be healthy - at a healthy weight, whatever that may turn out to be, and I will live an active life so that I can meet the daily challenges that come my way - rather than avoiding them because I'm not sure I'm strong enough, fast enough, or have enough endurance. I will not focus on my weight for the 2nd 50 years of my life, but on being healthy and active.

Aggie what are you diong up at that hour. You are all right I am going to take this one day at a time by making smart choices and accepting my faults each day.. That way I can only improve, not get stuck on the bad days and reach my weightloss goal this summer.

Thumbs up Inspiration for a newbie!

I'm glad I have found this forum. I'm new to LAWL and I while I have support in my life, the others don't always know exactly what I'm going through. After reading your posts, I am very excited about the outcome and happy that I have found you all! Thanks for all the positive thoughts!!

I will stay on the plan and lose the weight to be around for my 2 beautiful kids. I will become healthy and active and not sit around on my butt. I will not just change my eating habits, I will change my life. Last, but not least, I will surprise my old classmates at my 20th reunion this November by not showing up as "the fat girl."

BTW, where did you all get the tickers, and how do you add them? I think the visual of the ticker moving would definitely be motivation.

Welcome Holly! Jump over to the Losers and Friends thread and say hello. This is where much of the chatter during the day takes place. To get a ticker, go up and click onto User CP, click on Edit Signature, and follow the directions there.
