Can we join you

Hi,

I have been watching this thread and thought it might be fun to join in now and then.

I have been on a Provida website since October. We had our own group of dieters, started out at like 30 and now there are only 3 of us left. Also, I have been going to LAWL since April. I have the same challenges that I read about on here.

Anyhow I live in Michigan, work fulltime, exercise and play this diet game daily. My diet buddy, RustyWallaceFan is also gonna join.

Thanks......

Hi Everyone,
As Star said, we are both here from the Provida website but are on the LAWL plan. I have been doing this since March but I haven't had too much success with it. Way too many cheat days. I have been back on plan for almost two weeks and am really trying hard this time. :dizzy:
This sounds like a great thread and we do all face the same challenges. Hope you don't mind having two more in your group.

June the la slim-down is really good. I like the vanilla best, then strawberry. I don't like the chocolate - too artificial tasting! The really do fill you up. They have 20 grams of protein compared to Slim-Fast which has 12 grams. I weighed in today and am now down 32 pounds since April 15th. I wanted to be 2 pounds lighter by Friday (as I am going on vacation). That seems a bit unrealistic but I'm working towards that goal. I am a little worried about being away for 2 weeks but I am going to check into a LAWL where I am going just to keep things even. Bye for now.

Beachlover....Congratulations on the 32 pound loss. You must have alot of dedication to the plan. Do you have some advice for us on how to stay on plan? That might help us stay on track...Thanks

dianem1 08-11-2004 04:09 PM

Kris:
Back to your other question about the weeks, at least it used to say in the contract as long as you follow the plan and visit the center 3 x's a week and you do not reach your goal they are supposed to let you continue without any other charges for there services. Not including the products though. Unless the contract has changed since I started.
Hello to all the new comers.
Beach have fun on vacation.
Sy hope all is well with you. I am doing much better this week.

Welcome Kris, Starlynn, and RustyWallaceFan!!! I am new to this site as well, and it has been a real inspiration to me - I am sure you will have the same experience. It's so wonderful that so many people post here - and all are very supportive.
Kris: I think joining this thread is going to help you tremendously to stay on plan - I know that it has helped me enormously.
SY: Thanks so much for the congrats - I'm going to do my best to meet that minigoal and then some!!!
Beachlover: You are right - the SlimDowns are really good. I had one for lunch today with a small salad and was quite satisfied. Do you find that you have better losses when you do the SlimDowns?
This question is open to everyone. I have been doing Tri-Max and the FB's since I started the program, and I think they have helped me. Is anyone else using any of the supplements and do you like them? I was particularly interested if anyone does the whole regimen: Tri-Max, FB, EFA, Vitamins, and Calcium?
Hugs Everyone,
June

Beachlover,
Congrats on the 32 pound loss!!! I hope I get there someday!!!

Kris,
Thanks for the input - I appreciate your honesty. I have been taking Tri-Max with the FBs, so I'm not really sure if it's a combination of the two that seem to keep me on track, or one of them, or maybe it's just in my head!!!

Hi June:
I have used all of the supplements I noticed the fb's helped alot but I would get constipated using them. Now I just use the vitamin health pack and the celluway.

Hi everyone and welcome to the newbies! Okay, what are the FB's? I doubt if I could use them if they cause constipation - I have enough trouble in that area. And, Diane - how do you like the Celluway? Does is really keep you from feeling bloated? Whatelse is used for? Afraid to ask at the center because I know if I do, they will be trying to talk me into buying.

Star and Rusty, how are things going? Can you give a same of some of the things you enjoy eatting being on plan? I'm getting bored and need anyone's suggestions for something different. How can I spice up my chicken? I try different things and it just isn't tasting good lately. Maybe it's the chicken itself? I'm going to buy a 1/2 of turkey or some turkey breast this week and see if I can eat that for a few days. What does everyone eat for the dairy? I normally have Laughing Cow Cheese wedge on my toast in the morning, so far I'm not getting bored with that. I make chicken and turkey patties and loaves just about every week. Anyone do this, and if you do - what do you put in it to make it more tastier? I won't be going to the center until tomorrow so nothing to report there. Have a great day and I'll check back later for new posts... ~Sy~

Karen 08-12-2004 09:07 AM

Good morning everyone,
Sy....I bought some of LAWL Honey BBQ sauce. That is really good on the chicken. I haven't tried any of the other flavors yet. The other thing I've been doing with chicken and fish is frying it in Pam. It seems to give it a whole different flavor than grilling and baking. It makes me think I'm cheating.
I'm also doing the carb cravers plan so I eat a sandwich almost everyday and it only counts as a protein. The only thing I've bought in the way of supplements is the Carb Enders. I don't know if they're working or not. I've heard some people take them and some don't with the Carb Craver's Plan.
I go weigh in this morning so I'll report back with any losses or gains later.
June620...What does the 620 stand for?
Hey Star....I'll be waiting for your post.
Hello to everyone else.

june620 08-12-2004 11:11 AM

Good Morning Everyone,
Diane: Thanks for the info on the supplements. I have been considering the vitamins
and celluway (they call that EFA here - I'm getting the impression that there
are different names for these supplements depending on the part
of the country you are in - though I'm not sure if that is right.)
SY: I have a real constipation problem as well. When I was just a little child, maybe
3 years old, it got so bad that I was hospitalized. So this has been a lifelong
problem for me. Many times I'd only have a bm once a week. Since I've been on
program and started using Nature's Reply, I've been regular every day -
something that is brand new to me - so this is a wonderful improvement. As for
your question about Celluway, if I am correct and it's our EFA here (I live on
Long Island by the way) it is "Essential Fatty Acids" with omega-3 and omega-6
which help regulate blood pressure, digestion, increase metabolic rate and
energy level, promote healthy hair nails and skin, and reduce the occurence of
cellulite - that's what the brochure info I have says anyway. As for your
question about dairy, I am not too original in that area - I simply use skim milk,
and generally add to the mix when I do the LA shakes, since I am doing a
bar and a shake theses days. I love cheese, and I know that if I included it
in any form, I'd just overdo it, so I am trying to stay away from that. Oh,
one other thing that I forgot to mention is that I switched to Olive Oil as
my fat, and that also seems to help in the constipation area. As far
as your question about ideas to spice things up - I could use some as well!!!
RustyWallaceFan: I've never seen the LAWL Honey BBQ sauce, I will have to ask
if that is available in my area - it sounds like a great idea - thanks for the info!
What other flavors do you have? Also I have a question for you regarding
"Carb Enders." What is that? It's not listed in the supplements brochure I
have from my center. The only item that I see listed in our supplements that
seems to emphasize carbs is Tri-Max - which deals with carbohydrate cravings
and inhibits conversion of excess carbohydrates into fat. I have been taking
this, as well as FB500 for fat blocking since I started the program. The
combination seems to work well for me - I know I have lost a lot of inches since
I've already jumped down a size in all my clothing. I've been lucky, I guess in
terms of not being constipated by these supplements, but then again, as I said,
the olive oil and Nature's Reply have worked wonders for me in that area. As for
your question about what the 620 stands for, I'm afraid that it's not very
original, it's my birthday!!!! I hope nobody thought it was my weight!!!!!
On a general note, I am down .5 from yesterday on my scale, which would put me at a net loss of 10.3 pounds since July 15, putting me ahead of my first minigoal of 10 pounds by August 19. However, I'm not going to get too excited yet, as I try not to count small fluctuations like that as anything. I am supposed weigh-in tomorrow morning - so we shall see!!!! Big hugs to everyone - and enjoy the rest of the day - I know that I'll check back again later - I've become so addicted to this thread!!!
June

Karen 08-12-2004 11:47 AM

June620....The reason I asked about the 620 is because it is my Birthday as well. So, Happy Belated Birthday to you.
I went to the center and was down 1.5 since I was there last Thursday, so when I go again on Saturday I'll see what other kinds of sauces they have. I know there are 3 or 4 kinds. I'll let you know. Also, as far as the Carb Enders, I think it's something new because it wasn't in my orginal package either. When I ask them about the Carb Craver's Plan they said the card enders were to be used with them. You take 2 tablets before your carb craver meal. Sometimes I take them, sometimes I don't. I think they were 24.00 a bottle. I won't be buying anymore after this one. Just too much money with everything else.
Congratulations to everyone on your losses.

beachlover 08-12-2004 12:28 PM

This is great! so many new people! Hi to all. I don't think we can get Celluway here in Canada (different FDA-type regulations). I have been doing some of my own research re:supplements and the jury seems to be out on just how much good they can actually do. Having said that I take a multivitamin, chromium, and omega3. None of these are from LAWL. The omega3 is the same as the essential fatty acids tho'. Sy I like to sprinkle Mrs. Dash on a skinless, boneless chicken breast and slice it into strips and brown it in a non-stick pan. I then put the strips over a salad. Mrs. Dash is good on fish and on salads as well. Thank you to all who congratulated me on my weight loss so far. Believe me it is an ongoing battle. Sometimes it is really hard to keep your eyes on the prize. BTW, my dd in N.C. forwarded me an email she received from WW. It said starting Aug. 22nd. ther is going to be something new and exciting from WW - they are probably trying to counterattack all the low carb diets out there. I'll post tomorrow for the last time before holidays. Have a good day everyone.
