Syracuse... Happy Anniversary!!

Everything is open now on holidays it seems. I think Christmas and Easter Sunday are the only days that most places aren't open. Malls are even open on New Year's Day now (at least here in Alberta anyway!!).

beachlover.... enjoy those spareribs!! yummmmmmm!!

I weighed in on Saturday and was down 0.6. I go again tomorrow. My scale says I've stopped losing, been at 190 for 4 days now. However the LA scale says I keep going down but I think that's just due to different times I've weighed at (I'm about a 5-7lb diff between a.m. and p.m.) and diff clothes! Too bad ya can't strip it all off to weigh in!! :D Hopefully I'm down tomorrow.

I've been good since I started though today I've not really stuck to plan. I didn't eat too much just haven't eaten much at all. We're getting ready to move so I've been packing and just haven't been hungry or found the time to eat!!

It's gray here and trying to rain, hopefully we get a bit of sunshine tomorrow!!

Sy Happy Anniversary! Sounds like you are on a plateau. Have you thought about LA slimdown? Whenever I'm feeling like you are I use one of those in place of lunch. Weather-wise, yesterday was great! Today is shaping up to be pretty good too. Have a good op day!

Hi all.

Berk, I have a cousin that lives in Calgary - I believe the man she married last name is From. I'm sure it's a huge place, and so far from here. I only see their family ever couple of years. Plus, you may be much younger than them. And, thanks for the anniversary wish!

Sy:
Happy Anniversary! I have an anniversary in August also on the 20th.

Thanks Diane for the anniver wish. How is everyone doing OP? I'm doing okay, but it feels like I'm really on a plateau - I can't seem to get past this weight that I've been at for several weeks. I think it's in my mind, but I can't seem to shake it. I hope I'm not losing my motivation. I have a pair of capri/crop pants on today that fit really nice - last time I attempted to tried them on, couldn't get them on. You'd think that that would make me happy, and it really does - but the stall is killing me and has me in this funk. If the scale doesn't move I will be doing the Take Off Plan soon. I'm not weighing until later in the week. Have a great day everyone. ~Sy~

Hi Gals,
Happy anniversary Sy and Diane (early). Congrats Berk on your losses. I weighed in last Friday and gained 1.8. I totally deserved that after my 2 week vacation. So, I decided to do Take Off yesterday and today. I weighed in last night and was down, so that's promising.
I think the Take Off plan works so well because food tastes so good when you finally get to eat....
Anyway, I'm feeling ok and am surprisingly not hungry. For those who don't know what the Take Off plan is (it's different than the first 2 days you started LA):
You get the juice (4 cups), 6 oz. of lean protein (total), 2 green veggie servings and 2 bars...for the whole day. My counselor told me that since I work out, I should add a hard boiled egg for breakfast, so I've added that.
Here's my menu for 1 day:
Breakfast: 1 egg, 8 oz. Take off drink
Snack: LA Lite
Lunch: 3 oz. white chicken and 1/2 cup broccoli, 8 oz. Take Off drink
Snack: LA Lite, 8 oz. Take Off drink
Dinner: 3 oz. white chicken and 1/2 cup cooked cabbage with Morton Lite
salt, 8 oz. Take Off drink

Oh, and 12 oz. of coffee in the a.m. before breakfast. Hopefully this will kick my weight loss in the butt and I can lose some more inches (I've lost 19 inches total)...I'm working towards my next mini goal of an additional 20 pounds (40 pounds total). I have about 12 pounds to go.
After going off of the program for 2 weeks, I found myself getting really hungry all of the time, I hope the Take Off plan will also rid some of these cravings.
Anyway, I hope you all are having a good Tuesday on program.
Talk to you soon,
Jenni

Jenni: Your doing great. Let us know how your take-off goes as I'm thinking of asking about it when I go in this week. I'm not sure which day I will go yet as I feel bloated and there would be no point just to have them say that I'm up. Take care, Sy

dianem1 08-04-2004 01:57 PM

Hi Ladies:
Jenni I attemted the take off over the weekend I did not make it through the second day, I don't know how I used to do it all of the time. Good luck with it.
Sy hope you are out of your funk I have been in one for such a long time. I went back to the center yesterday and I was up 2.5 I changed my menu some, I get so bored of the protein all of the time. I know at the center they don't want to hear it but I have been have the lean Cuisine's for lunch.
Hi Beach how is your week going?
Diane

SyracuseNY 08-05-2004 11:27 AM

Hi everyone.

Well, I don't think I'm going to the center again until tomorrow, haven't been all week. It's :dizzy: that I'm feeling like I haven't lost any weight, but my pants don't feel any tighter so what's up with that? :(

I must be PMSing this week? Diane, I'm not sure of your age, but I think it's something like perimemopausal thing for me - seems like I'm in a funky mood lots lately. Can't say that your having the same problem. Yikes, some things can suck as we get older ;) . Everyone have a great day, and I'll be back. Sy

dianem1 08-05-2004 04:24 PM

Sy:
I turned 42 on July 16th. But I always was moody with food so I can't blame it on my age. Then I see others that are older than me having great success losing weight. My Mom can still drop 5 pounds in week, I would be lucky with 3.
Where is everyone?
Hope you are having a better day
Diane

Hi everyone. Diane, I'm 48 and I didn't think it was possible for me to lose the weight since I had been trying since I stopped smoking in '00. Now, with LA - I know it is possible. I'm down 32 lbs and I'm very happy at that. For some reason, I still feel FAT this week. Only thing different that I have had is Crystal Light - maybe there is something in that stuff that is depressing me, or bloating me. I'm back to plain water. Hopefully that will made my visit tomorrow better than I expect. Or, maybe it's normal for some after being OP for 4 months without any big splurges. Not that I'm complaining, I like not having any of them and being in control of my choices. I need some to bring me up to my normal self. Maybe a swift kick in the butt! Maybe some summer weather - burr it's cold here today. It may have reached 70 degrees if we are lucky. But, you will all be happy to hear that it did not RAIN today, and it's not suppose to rain for the next 4 days. Hope those weather men are right this time. I did go out for a 9-10 mile bike ride tonight and it felt great. Hope everyone has a nice evening, and hopefully some others will come back and post some messages. I miss everyone! Take care, Sy

I feel like an old lady now. I'll be 57 soon but I honestly don't feel that old. I used to take hormones re: menopause and stopped due to all the bad press. However my sleep patterns have changed drastically and my inner "thermostat" is shot - one minute I'm freezing, the next I'm boiling! The joys of getting older! That is one reason I want to lose this weight for good. I will be old but I don't want to be old AND fat! I was at LAWL on Wednesday and was down. Sy I've lost the same amount as you and I want to lose about 20 pounds more. I should go tomorrow but I don't feel like I've lost anything. I did go for an hour walk today. I'm hoping to get into some kind of weight training in the fall. We all seem kind of funky lately. Maybe it;s the weather. Ours is lousy - cold and supposed to rain for the next several days. TTYL

Hi everyone. Beach, Our age is a state of mind at this point in our lives, some days I feel like me, other days I swear that someone took over my body in my sleep and/or someone beat me up in my sleep. Actually, I have felt great since I started exercising regularly a year ago. Best I have felt in years! I have about 12 lbs to reach my 1st LA goal, then I think I'd like to get down about 10 more from that because when I set my goal at LA, I truely thought that it was impossible for me to lose the weight. Now that I know it works, and I have the motivation - I really think I can do it. Who is this person talking/typing? Oh, it's me. I guess I must be in better spirits today. LOL.

I have jeans on today at work - it's Friday and I said what the heck. I did bring my weigh-in clothes with me to I can stop by LA after work. I will report the verdict from the scale of my funky mood this week - later or tomorrow.

How is everyone else doing? Anyone try anything new? I'm getting bored eatting the same old things. Take care everyone, and have a great weekend. ~Sy~

dianem1 08-06-2004 01:17 PM

Sy:
Thats one of my main problems getting bored with the food. I know thats one of the resons I have not gotten back on track with LAWL. Because there really is not much a variety after a while. I don't want anything to do with chicken and that seems to be one of the main staples of LAWL. Portion wise anyway.
Beach I never smoked its always been food that has been my habit.
The weather is cool here also, or its the breeze that makes it feel cooler.

Have a great day
Diane
