LaDean, you are doing great with your points. It's good to vary your points, that way it jumps your metabolism. The 51 points you had the other day isn't bad. From different posts I've seen, 1 pt. = 50 cal., but that doesn't include the calories you eat in the 0 point veggies that you're allowed. So, it is a rough estimate. Keep up the good work.
Kathy, how was your day yesterday? I get Hoods sugar free fudgicles. How's everyone doing? I'm fine, and i'm still eating well. Yesterday and today I had starch in the form of WASA crackers, and Sat. Sun & Mon, i'll be starch free. Aleka- I've never heard of Hood's sugar products, but i'm going to keep my eye out for the. Do they only make one flavor, what's you fav? You menu looks very wholesome! Very balanced. I'm heading out to Florida in July, I read SS book and I am also looking into D.S. book as well, I like her principle. And I did read Atkins book. I'm just trying to take the best principle from all and incorporate into something that will work for me. Mainly it boils down to starches and sugar. LaDean-A lot of people do fluxuate their pts and fine that they do see better results that way. i had a good day. stayed same last week for tops weigh in, i was so happy.... but this week will be a loss i am ready to get with it. thanks aleka i would like to stay lower end with pts but just starting again this week i thought it was ok.ha

I never got exercise in today... i am plugged up so its allergies as i am not sick... got some allergie medicine going to take at bedtime now its later... You both are doing great... LaDean, congratulations on staying the same! That is just as important as losing weight. Thanks for the diettalk site. I went into it and registered. So...I may see you over there. I got on the scale this morning and I've GAINED 2 more lb.! This is NOT good. I have to start getting serious about something ASAP. Kathy, I think that Hoods products may be just sold in New England, but I'm not totally sure about that. I always get the chocolate fudgsicles because it satisfies my chocolate cravings whenever I get them. I think I will start the Atkins using 40g. of carbs per day and see how it goes. I don't think I'd be able to do induction with only 20g. per day. Tomorrow we'll be going out and I'll pick up a good carb counter book. Ya, I like some of D S way of eating, but sometimes is too strict. Some of the Ssizers were doing both, using Suzanne's WOE and adding a few carbs with their meals, and not food combining. They were losing too. I won't post my menu for yesterday because it wasn't all that good. Have a great weekend. Aleka |

Yes i was so happy to stay the same. scales the same or down a bit this am. forgot to weigh before i ate breakfast.... ha i am addicted to the weighing daily.ha Do not FRET now aleka you know how to do it. so getting back into your plan and moving forward now is what counts. yesterday has been forgotten we look forward to today... so go for it... i am going to be a good girl.

Hope you guys had a good weekend. My eating was sort of ok. I thought I had gained 2 more lbs., but got on the scale again this morning, and they're gone. It must have been water weight.

I had a great weekend. I actually joined Jenny Craig this weekend. I just can't take the yo-yoing to nowhere anymore. I need to see results and I just keep playing around so I joined. I join the package "loose 20# for $20". That's only half the weight I need to loose but it's worth it for now. I ate well all last week except for Sunday where I had like 3 donuts thoughtout the day. Aleka- Are you starting a modified Atkins program today? I found some fudgecicles but they are not Hoods though. They'll do the trick. lol LaDean- How is WW coming along? Kathy |

KIT, So with the program you started is the food extra with that price and all??? we do not have it close here but i have heard good of it. glad you finally decided on a plan you will do good on it. Know what you mean just trying them all gets disgusting and which way to turn sometimes. they make them all sound so good. GOOD LUCK..... ALEKA, I looked for your name here then i saw that and clicked on it and went to your profile and then knew it was you... glad you came over i like that one you responded on to. it makes alot of sense to me.. i think we each have to find what helps us then i combine several and go from there. but i liked that board. had not gone to it.. Kathy, that's fantastic you are so enthused about Jenny Craig. You definitely will reach your goal. The foods that you are eating sound great. How long do you eat their food before you can start shopping for yourself? Do you pick and chose what you want to eat, or do they do it for you? I have seen their commercials and I've always wondered what they were all about. Sorry for all the questions. I've gone into the dietalk site that LaDean posted and I'm on a forum of people trying the "no diet" approach, where you just watch portions, try to eat healthy, and exercise. I'm going to try to do that for awhile because I am tired of "being on a diet" and counting things. I am just going to go light on the carbs, eating my 1 carb meal a day on most days. I wish you the best of luck with Jenny Craig.

KIT, So very happy the program is one you like. i know you will reach goal on it. so happy you went to it and like it... i have heard alot about it. My neighbor had the whole program at her garage sale last summer and i was going to get it and never. i have so many videos and all. your food sounds good. good luck to you.. go for that GOAL GAL... you can do it.
ALEKA, yes i am like you i went to that board you started and read some on it. sounds neat. so i am doing that for awhile now. counting the pts still but eating what i really want. going off sugar and all still. but the pts are easier then the counting cal for me.ha i change off and on and does not get boaring.. I had my walk this am. i sure feel crapy.haha these allergies never had this before a first. but can still do and so i will live with it. not letting it keep me from walking and all. sunshine is out today as was yesterday. hubby is out plowing up the garden again in my spot for flowers. so this evening we will get some in... frost 2 nites but covered the tomatoes so never got them. so happy about that. it hit some of my dalias but not to bad they will come out of it i am sure. sure got lots coming up. all red ones. got a few colored ones. i am getting laundry done today. like to hang things outside.. so fresh... LaDean, I love hanging clothes outside to dry. But, we put feeders out for the birds and the clothes are in their fly zone. I love this diet. I'm so thankful to have my carbs back! Aleka- I don't get to pick my foods until week 3. They pick the menu for me so I can taste all their foods. So far everything i've tasted I've loved. I'm so sick of being on a diet as well and having to watch pts, carbs, etc. It's so nice not to have to think about anything for a while. I am doing ok. get tired of all the counting also. so mainly just eating what i want and trying to stay within the pts for me. so far its going good. i get bored with cal so count pts. it helps me to keep a eating journal.. i do not mind it.. i had no lunch today and no dinner tonite. just drinking some juice. tops in the am and i want these scales to stay down. sides that i am not even hungry. ate a filling breakfast cause knew i was going to do this today... Yes diettalk is like this message boards and all. i like the different ones. It has the No diet approach and I am trying to think in this order. its helping me. i just add pts to what i eat. not paying so much attention. just eating what i should. Aleka, i lost 1 lb today at tops. so i was a happy one. 2 weeks without a gain now. so that is good for me... i am seeing if i can go now and not gain. got up to 10 weeks before and no gains. so giving it a try again...
My point average is 26-31 5/16 34 5/17 30 5/18 37 5/19 33 5/20 21 5/21 19 5/22 17 so it was a good week. I am trying to stay at lower end more this week... I never got walk in so going to try and do ex bike for today. is cool in here and quite hot outdoors. i jsut do not take to the heat. tuffy says woof to lacee So the no diet approach is not doing its thing. i am wondering about it to. i looked into the eating plan now of the body for life and it might be ok. have you looked at it... www.ivillage.com has the plan interesting... its 6 small meals a day... checking it out.. What i do is take several plans i like and make one for me... so maybe do that and it will help. not as much to remember and all. i just keep a journal for tops. we pay or keep one. so helps me to do it. i tryed going to the sites to do it and its easier to do from labels and then accurate i think... good luck in finding what you want. sometimes just need a rest looking for one to. ha Kit, so happy your happy with yours. and that its working for you. Body for Life is a good plan, but I think you have to do a lot of weight training along with the meal plan. There is a thread on this website about BFL. Hi, yes there is alot of body things with it. i have decided to just exercise and do my thing. with portions alot.. i get to trying so many things and blow it. ha ha today scales are down another lb i am so happy. so got to be a good girl. cause each day can be diffferent.ha Hey we all have days not good. but one good thing is we hop right on the trail again. get with our plans and watching it. I know what you mean by rain. has been real warm here. today a hot one. i just got in from walk. if the heat comes up i will have to head out earlier. just cannot take the heat.. had a sunstroke on year and ever since i have not taken to it. it zaps me of all energy... I hope this day is a good one for you. glad your memorial weekend was nice. ours to. kids called and so spent sunday with them and grandbabies. course now i loved every minute of that. then yesterday we got some flowers planted and all. i love flowers...

I turtled this week. was glad cause my 3rd week and no gain. so of course I love that.. i am doing pretty good with my points... keeping it in my area which is 26-31 so been doing ok... one day over but average out as i go lower another day..

Hope your weekend was a good one. tuffy was sick last nite. we felt sorry for him so gave him a bit of spaggatti for dinner he loves it... well have not done this for sometime... since stroke. so a bad thing on our part. sure not again... its just to much for his belly. hes doing ok today. somedays he just does not get along as well. but hes with us and frisky still at times... so thankful for that. Hope Lacee is ok. he says wooof... LaDean, it's good that you've decided to count calories instead of points. That way you don't get bored doing the same thing. Please do send some of your heat this way.:^: All we seem to be getting is rain with one or two days of sun inbetween. It's only in the 50's here today.

Aleka, i am to .. i think i can lose more watching the calories. my friend and i are both doing it now.. It helped me the last few days to do it.. I have just forgot i cannot have this and i can have this. i am just eating what i want. leaving sugar alone. but if i want something have a serving and quit.. as i know i cannot just live with out it forever and do not want to.ha ha We all need a rest i have taken them before. then when you come back with a program or what ever it is you decided on then you willl do good on it.. so good luck to you....
Hey Kit keep losing maybe some of the luck will rub off on me.ha got tops in the am. scales down tonite so that is a good sign. but they varie daily. so i just wait and see... i am taking a rest on exercise. just giving these feet a rest. that way by next week i will be ready to walk again... LaDean, it makes it a lot easier when you have a friend doing a diet along with you. How did your weigh in go at TOPS? I seem to be gaining and losing the same 2 lbs. I really should be exercising. Right now I am going through some emotional issues, not too..too bad where I want to bury myself in gooey pizza :jeno: my comfort food, but enough so that it's too much of a bother to count calories or points. YEHHHHHHH FOR ME
ALEKA,,, 2 1/4 down this week. i was so happy with me.. i really got in there and tryed... never got exercise in but is why i tried hard with eating and measured alot.. this is 3rd week no gain... I am still taking off the 14 i put back on from my lossing last summer... so got 12 to go now. its getting down there... then i can go for goal... I want to reach my goal this year so trying for that.. good luck to you. your doing ok. we all need a rest from it sometimes. i have taken that to. the main thing is go back to it and your are...

4 MILE WALK THIS AM... WENT SHOPPING YESTERDAY AND I MEAN I GOT SOME WALKING IN. EATING NOW WAS DIFFERENT ISSUE WENT TO BUFFET BUT DID GOOD. SCALES ARE UP TODAY SO WORK IS OUT FOR ME TODAY AND ALL WEEK.. GOOD LUCK TO THE BOTH OF YOU. LaDean |

Kathy, congratulations on your weight loss! :high: You're really going to town with losing weight. Good for you! LaDean, way to go with your weight loss!:bravo: plus the walking you're doing. I know you have a weekly weigh in at TOPS, but how often do you weight yourself at home? Both of you are putting me to shame!:o :lol: I really wish I could get in gear with the dieting. I feel so FAT! I may try the grapefruit diet again, to lose 5-10 lbs. I lost pretty fast on that. I have to have blood drawn tomorrow for a cholesterol check, and have a Dr. appt. a couple weeks later. That will give me time to lose some weight before I get yelled at. :lol: Enjoy the rest of the day! Aleka |
