marion 04-14-2009 03:13 PM

Hey Lou,
Just posting to say I probably will not be posting till next week. I am getting ready for a road trip and will be gone the weekend.

I always get bloated when I travel.

Hope you all do well on diet and exercise and when I get back I can let you know what I am doing for diet and exercise...

negrita75 04-15-2009 02:03 PM

Hey ladies I found the new thread. how are you guys? I know I miss posting everyday but with me going back to work it's been diffcult. I've lost another 2 pounds so I'm officially 145 pounds woohoo only 20 pounds to my goal. I'm just eating 1200 calories and I'm working all day and I try and walk 30 mins a day but that's it..

Hang in there ladies we will and can do it..

LighterLou 04-16-2009 01:47 PM

Marion, Have a good trip!
Negrita, glad to hear about the 2lb loss!!!!

I am still struggling to get back in the groove. I plan to weigh in next Wed. I am going to count calories and get back to working out. I have been sick and am now just feeling better.

Talk later!! BYE

fireballgirl 04-19-2009 04:03 PM

Hi everyone ... I'm interested in joining. I've been doing Sonoma and am having decent success, but find myself cheating. I'm wondering if having a more structured plan might be better for me. And I want something with quick results because I think that I might stay more motivated. I'm trying to decide between FS or EFS (adding a some extra calories--1 c. of plain yogurt daily and a carb snack before bed because those two things do something to my metabolism that really works to control my appetite). I would love to join you.

marion 04-20-2009 08:47 AM

Welcome fireballgirl!
Negrita, congrats on the weight loss!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hope you are doing well!

Lou, are you feeling better????

We got back late Saturday night from my husband's grandfather's funeral. Today I am starting my diet again.

This is what I am doing and in 2 weeks if it doesn't work I am going back to EFS for a couple weeks. It is a diet from a book Body Defining, you lift weights 3 times a week and the diet is for 6 weeks, weeks 1&2 you eat 1200 a day, weeks 3&4 1100 a day and weeks 5&6 1000 a day. You eat 300 calories for lunch, dinner and supper and your snacks is where the calories change from week to week. First 2 weeks you get 2 snacks that are 150 calories. The food is very simple to follow, which is a big plus for me.

I am afraid to weigh myself because of all the traveling, so I am going to wait till next Monday to weigh myself:)

OK ladies let's do this!

LighterLou 04-21-2009 06:01 PM

Welcome fireballgirl!!!

Marion-good job at getting back to business! I, on the other hand, am having a hard time getting back on track. I still have this terrible cough, and cannot jog. I have been walking the kids to school, but that is about it. I did eat better today (yes just today) I am in the middle of trying to move my family across the country. So stress is winning at this point.

Alright I feel better that I got it out and I did buy a new pair of running shoes so I have high hopes of jogging tomorrow after I drop my son off at preschool. (if not running at least a hour and a half walk).

Keep up the good work ladies we can do it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

bjeweled 04-21-2009 07:21 PM

 hi!

i began EFS today! i have been fat smashing for over a month but decided to try EFS since i am only about 30 pounds from goal and i need to be in a bathing suit by may 28th. my body is almost there but not quite!

i am doing day 1 and so far so good. i am hungry as heck just because my brain had gotten slightly used to the junk i had been eating for the past few days. but my stomach is fine.

i plan to get a run in tonight after i finish this paper that i have to write for class.

marion 04-22-2009 10:56 AM

Hey Ladies!
I am suppose to exercise today, it is so much easier for me to stay on diet when I don't exercise because I get sooooooooo hungry a few hours after I exercise. I need self control!!!!

Hope everyone does well today!!!

LighterLou 04-22-2009 11:36 AM

Hello, I am in my exercise gear, including my new running shoes! I am going to go after I drop my son off at school. I feel good today. I had oatmeal for breakfast with some black tea.

My go to snack with EFS has been pickles. They are sometimes just what I need to get through to the next meal.

Have a great day.

bjeweled 04-23-2009 02:23 AM

hi again!

lou - i read on another post that u were thinking of doing the 9 day detox and starting EFS over. do u think that will help me get rid of these cravings that i have from the crap i have eaten the last few days? or should i just begin EFS cycle 1?

smashers - any other tips that you all have to help me in my EFS journey? i am really struggling these days.

marion 04-23-2009 01:00 PM

Hey Bejeweled, one thing that helped me was planning my meals ahead of time. I think I might need to go back to EFS, I have been doing horrible:(

Lou, send some of your energy my way please!!!!

LighterLou 04-23-2009 02:01 PM

All right, its time to get serious!!! Who is up for a team effort of EFS???

I'd say we post a daily menu (according to the book) and what type we are, and see if we can be accountable to each other...Who's in?!?!

I am type Y.
my exercise will be 65 min.
I have already done 30 min of pilates
Today I will eat from cycle 1 day 1...
Breakfast: 1c. cereal with milk. (I started this new transformation after bfast)
Snack: 1c. fruit. I had a plum
Lunch: Sm. Salad, with carrots, snap peas and sesame dressing
Snack: 1c. homemade split pea soup
Dinner:1/2 c. beans & 2 servings veggies...White beans w/mixed veggies
*I pledge to you my fellow EFSers...I will not eat after 8pm, because from past experience I will not wither away if I go to bed hungry. I will instead be better prepared to eat a healthy the next day. (This really does work)

Tomorrow I will do day 2 of cycle 1.

LETS GO...3 weeks starting today! (I know its kind of late in the day, but what better time is there?)

I want to know what you can pledge? Be reasonable, make it a goal you can stick with, together we can do it!!!

marion 04-23-2009 06:28 PM

Ok, I am in, starting tonight!
This is what my day looked like,
no exercise
breakfast: egg and sauage sandwich
lunch and afternoon: 5 cups coffee with creamer
dinner: smart ones dinner and 1 slice of garlic bread (I made spaghetti for dinner)
snack: 3 peanut butter crackers

marion 04-24-2009 08:42 AM

Ok, this is too funny not to share. Last night I had a dream that I got on the scale and the scale talked to me and said,"you gained all your weight back, you loser." The scale had like a t.v. screen in the middle of it and it had like animated words and pictures, things like OH NO, and WOW.

Not sure what I am having for breakfast and lunch yet, tonight I have a dinner to attend with my hubby and high school senior son.

Hope everyone is having a great morning, I will post later:)

marion 04-24-2009 10:02 AM

Ok, today
I will lift weights this morning!(I use a bowflex)
Breakfast: 3 cups coffee and creamer
1 cup Life cereal with 1/2 cup milk
Lunch:
6oz chicken, 1 tabsp mayo, 1/4 cup corn, 2 tabsp relish, over lettuce
snack in afternoon: will be no more than 100 calories
Dinner: not sure because I don't know what is going to be served, but I plan on being good:)
Not getting on the scale till Monday, hopefully I will not have anymore nightmares about the scale:)

marion 04-24-2009 11:01 AM

marion 04-30-2009 01:00 PM

Hey Negrita..MISS YOU posting!!!! It is great you have stayed the same weight, lots better than gaining!!!!

Hope everyone is having a great day!!!

cHiYo 05-03-2009 08:21 PM

Hellloooo!!

I've been reading posts since I started EFS and this is my first post since i just registered! :(

I am on Cycle 2, Day 6 - almost on Cycle 3!

I lost 3.6 lbs my first week, but only 1.4 my second (I put my diet on hold for 3 days) In any case - my sister lost 7 lbs on her first week on FS.

Does anyone know which one is better? FS or EFS. I thought EFS was better, but she lost so much more weight than I have so far on FS and I feel like I'm always hungry :(

Any feelings? My goal weight is 130 - 25lbs to go!

marion 05-04-2009 07:30 AM

Good Morning,
Hey Chiyo!!! I don't know which one is better since I have only done the EFS, lost 8 lbs. First week I lost 4 pounds but I don't think it was all fat:) Congrats on your weight loss, you are doing so good!!!

I am sticking with 300 calories, breakfast, lunch and dinner with 2 snacks of no more than 150 calories.
I plan on weighing myself after my TOM. I know I have gained weight, I have not overeat but it seems that when I started to eat a regular diet after EFS my body has decided to store it, that is why I am sticking to a 1200 calories a day instead of 850-1150 with EFS.

One of my sons is graduating High School this saturday, I have 2 dinners this week. I need to do well here because this is where I royally mess up.

MaryEllen 05-04-2009 12:29 PM

I started FS in January and until the middle of March lost about 35 lbs. Then I stopped because of school...the stress was too much. I just restarted yesterday, and now I remember why I love this diet so much. Luckily I didn't gain anything back during my lull, but hopefully restarting at Phase 1 will jumpstart everything! I'm really excited about it. lol

NCSmasher 05-04-2009 12:43 PM

I am also going to go back to Phase I. The past week I have not stuck to the plan, I haven't gone over board but it's still a miracle I haven't gained any wieght back. I definitely need to get back into my work outs. I have only worked out 4 times in the past two weeks.

marion 05-04-2009 01:57 PM

Welcome Mary Ellen and NCSmasher!

I had a great workout on the bowflex this morning:) I was pretty surprised that I gained weight after going off EFS, I am like it takes 3500 calories to make a pound, there is absoultely NO WAY I ate that much a day. I just figured what I orginally lost in the beginning was not fat to begin with. I think I gained back 1-2 pounds.

Hope everyone is having a wonderful day!!!!! Keep up the great work!!!!!!!!!

SheilaG 05-11-2009 12:55 PM

Hey......what happened to all the activity on this thread?

Desihue 05-11-2009 01:05 PM

I'm new to FS and to this site. I'm a former Atkins loser and this plan has taught me the true meaning of patience. With my former lifestyle, I could easily drop 4-6 pounds in a week! This plan has me working out way more and eating super healthy but eecking out only 1-2 pounds a week. I am really dissappointed in the progress but I keep telling myself that the slower rate of loss will ensure a more permanent loss and THAT is what is most important to me! My MIL bought me the 4-day diet yesterday and I plan to get going with that probably later this week. I need to check to make sure I have the right foods. I'm really trying not to be a brat about my weight loss, this is also a new mental way of weight loss for me as well I guess :(

Freudzgrl 05-11-2009 08:44 PM

I'm new to this site. I have been doing the EFS diet now for a week and have lost 6 lbs so far. There are certain days that I am really hungry, but all in all, I am perfectly fine during the day. I would say that this diet rocks, even though it's hard to believe that I'm losing weight eating cups of rice everyday. Who knew?

SheilaG 05-12-2009 08:59 AM

6 lbs. in 1 week is great. You're definitely off to a good start. I'm also doing EFS. I started 6 weeks ago and have lost 10 lbs. Recently I've found it difficult to exercise as I'm usually tired when I get home from work. Also, I'm nibbling here and there and while I don't think I'm going overboard....I know it's helping. I just need to get myself back on track with the dedication I had when I first started.

WOW!! That is some amazing progress right there! I just started the 4-day diet today so we’ll see how this goes. Congrats on your 6 pound loss so far!

negrita75 05-25-2009 05:53 AM

Hello to everyone out there. just checking in to say hello. haven't been on in awhile. hey there marion lou and 32smasher if you gals are still out there :)

Deishue you lost 4-6 pounds a week with atkins that's great and for sure the patience because I'm a carb lover :)

LighterLou 05-28-2009 11:31 AM

I am still here! (well for today). We are in the middle of moving across the country so I have been preocupied! Not really doing anything right now. Today is the kids last day of school, then we move on the 15th. I will try to check in now and then.

Thinfor5Minutes 05-29-2009 10:11 AM

Has anyone tried FS for a small amount of weight loss? I've been stuck at my current weight forever after dropping 12 pounds and am looking for something to force me off my plateau.
