The FitBit is just a 3d accelerometer thing. I had a different brand, similar technology thing (not a public product, it was through hubby's health care job). The FitBit and the BB/GWF aren't really even the same product and I don't think they can really be compared.

The FitBit is more like a super-fancy pedometer, whereas the BB/GWF are actually -- essentially -- measuring your metabolism.

I bought the GWF today at Dick's. It was on clearance for $120. It's charging now. I can't wait to use it!!!

Does anyone else feel self conscious wearing this thing in public. I don't mind so much now because I don't work in the summer time but I feel really weird wearing it to work.

Nope! I spent a few days telling people that it was a "fancy pedometer thing" and now no one asks or cares about it.

Do any of these products allow you to enter your calories, too? I used to use a caltrac and I could enter my calories as I ate, which was handy. Thanks!

The GoWear Fit has a database of foods so you can enter your calories with no problem. It then shows how many calories burned and how many eaten so you can know if you are meeting your goals.

The BodyBugg has calorie tracking, too, and recently updated their database so there's a lot less need for entering the info yourself off labels (although it's easy to do that, too)!

Gowear Fit Promotion Code

Just ordered my gowear fit this morning and I'm so excited! I found a promotional code that saved me 10% - it's EMPDISCAMI if anyone else wants to use it.

They mentioned BodyBugg on The Biggest Loser again on Tuesday so I imagine we'll be seeing an influx of new users in the next week or two.

Still plugging away using mine. I took mine off for 2 weeks while we had company. We were just eating out a lot and it was hard to know the calories so I just tried to behave enough not to gain.

I wanted to wear it durning my Tri, but After I got out of the swim I put on a long sleave shirt to bike in (it was in the 60's) and by the time I realized about the BB I didn't have the time to take the shirt off to put it on... so No idea what I burned.

I have been wearing mine for a month now and I love it. I am so used to it now I forget I have it on. I love seeing how many more calories I burn than I eat, it is so motivating.

Hi everyone - I have kinda a cool non-scale victory. Today I tightened up the band on my bodybugg and realized that there is really only about 1 inch of room left for me to snug it up, so I'm going to definately have to order a smaller one shortly. I think they send it out with a "large" one so I guess I'll get a medium. Anyone know the size differences on the bands? Wondering if I should just get a small.

This is pretty cool because I always have really heavy arms which make me look heavier then I am.

Idealmuse 09-18-2009 01:43 PM

Nevermind it looks like there are only 2 sizes. I ordered the medium, but since they ream you on shipping I bought 2 so I'll have a backup and won't have to pay shipping twice.

BTW if anyone orders them it ended up being a few bucks cheaper at 24hourfitness versus myapex.

Yay!

Isn't it great?
