30 Day POP Challenge!!
Who wants to join me for an April challenge? I want to stay POP for 30 straight days, the ENTIRE month of April.
It sounds like a big task, but if we take it one day at a time we can do it! We can check in on this thread daily & help each other achieve this goal. |
What does the firt P of POP mean?? I am assuming the "OP" means on plan.

I am sooo totally into the challenge! I need SOMETHING to keep me on plan. I try so hard, but I am doing it on my own since my center closed and it is sooooo HARD when I don't have to answer to anyone! Great Idea for Challenge!

you mean no licking my fingers when i give the kids chocolate? i really need to stop that and i need to stop taking bites of their things, it adds up.
anyway i'm in. This came at a great time because i've been so good and recently i find myself indulging so i need to do this. We can do this!!! |
I would definitely like to try this. I've not been perfect and perhaps that's why I'm losing so slowly right now.

I've only been at LAWL 2 weeks, I don't know if it is PMS or what but today I wanted in that Easter chocolate! I had one small bite but ohhhhhh I wanted more. So I'm in - POP for 30 days starting right now. :) |

Boy, do I need to join in!
I restarted LAWL (COD) two months ago after taking a year off. Was doing fabulous, but then went TOTALLY off track for the last three weeks (one week of which was a trip to Vegas). I swear, bad food is like a drug to me - once I start I can't stop myself!! But yesterday (+6 pounds later - yikes!) I grabbed myself by the scruff of the neck and went back to the COD. They're sending me back to start - two days of TakeOff and four weeks of Express. And they encouraged me to do the SlimDowns once a day for the first two weeks to help speed things up and get me back to where I wanted to be. (Probably just a sales pitch, but I'm mad enough at myself to try anything right now!) So, except for one small planned exception (a cupcake at my son's birthday party this Saturday - I know I won't resist that) I'm on board!! No more foolin' around!! |
Amazing what a day of POP can do!
I have not been writing down my foods for the last couple weeks and subsequently I have lost nothing (including the 5 I gained in China). This Monday I decided no more playing around either I got back OP or I had to update my ticker! I could not bear THAT!
I have been writing my foods down this week and already lost 3# (sure it was H2O but I needed to get that stuff gone as well!) Consider me in! I am going to have some days where staying OP will be problematic but I can work around that! Today I am a POP star! Thanks for the push, T |

I'm up too. I did take off monday and yesterday, so I am POP so far today.
I too have gotten lax in journaling. They tell you it is in the top things that helps people lose and maintain weight loss. I am back on track today. I got a new journal out and am ready to move through this 30 days. My DS has his 1st Communion on the 3rd of May and we have a ton of people who haven't seen me in ages coming so I want to look my best ( and go a little off plan and have some extra Hummus at the party - I love that stuff ... I know as long as it is in moderation, but come on it is so good!) |

Yea Carol, Debbie, Joyce, Betty, LadyZaidi, LeighAnn, Tuesday & Amy! Thanks for joining me……I was worried that I wasn’t going to have anyone and would be all alone talking to myself on this thread. Great to have company! I’m really amped up for this. I know I could lose a nice chunk of weight this month if I stay POP.
I’ve been totally off track since my vaca to Florida in February. Luckily, I’ve been able to maintain. But I really should have lost some more weight by now. Time for a kick in the butt! We’ll have each other to answer to for the next 29 days! Day 1 went wonderfully for me. WI was great this morning down 2.8 lbs. I’m sure mostly water weight from all the crap I’ve been eating, but it sure was nice to see that scale down so much! See what 1 day of POP can do?? Day 2! Let’s get it! |

I know I'm a little late in joining but may I? Yesterday I was POP but this morning not so much. I'll get back on track for the rest of the day. I need to stay focused as I've been straying off plan way too much lately and have regained some of the weight I've taken off. I am also going to start writing everything down. Even if it's the "bad" stuff. Here's to a POP month. Good luck everyone. Together we can do this!!!!

I made it through yesterday. It was my first day of TakeOff to get me back on track after my 3 weeks of misbehavior. But oh my goodness - by 4:00 I wanted a banana or some carbs so bad it was crazy! I toughed it out though... didn't give in. My reward was -2.5 on the scale this morning. We can do it!! One day at a time ladies!!! |

A little something I'm doing to deal w/ cravings......if I'm craving something, I'll try to work it in the next couple of days. For example, I was having a really bad burger craving yesterday and found a recipe in my LAWL cookbook for burgers. I didn't realize you could even have ground beef on this program, but I figure if it's in the cookbook, it's allowed. I am building tomorrow's menu around burgers on the grill for dinner. Awesome loss LeighAnn! That is so motivating isn't it? I think it's funny that you were craving a banana. What a healthy craving to have! Welcome to Day 3 of POP!! |
Did pretty good today. I forgot to write down my foods though, and I think that I missed a fruit! Will do better tomorrow. But I did go to the gym and did 30min cardio so hopefully that helped!
How did everyone else do? Tomorrow and the weekend is REALLY tough for me! I used to visit Dunkin Donuts on the way to the office on Fridays and it takes ALOT of willpower to stay away, especially when my 3 year old wants donuts!!!!! Then unless I stay really busy over the weekend I look to munch! So good luck to everyone over the weekend and lets try to give each other as much help as we can!!!!! I know I can use the encouragement!!! Goal is to lose 10lbs by the end of the month for my parent's anniversary party! |

POP here and i'm having so much temptations. DH is always asking me if i want soda or something and i know its because he wants some so i tell him "just go have some and leave me alone" :lol: My biggest temptation is when i'm giving the kids chocolate or something yummy and i just want to lick my fingers but i resist and just to wash them :(. I'm hanging in there tho, everytime a temptation comes up i think about you all and think about my promise to the group. We can do this ladies!!

I had a few moments yesterday where I almost went off plan. First I left work and my car was completely dead. Apparently I left the lights on all day. I though they shut off automatically after a while. Guess not. Had to call the DF to come give me a jump start. I thought how nice it would be to go out to dinner since all the good restaruants are out here by my work. And I had gift cards to a couple of our faves in my purse. Then, I got home, was totally starving and my chicken was still completely frozen. It would've been so nice to just order in and spend the night watching TV and munching. Having to answer to you guys today (especially b/c this was my idea) REALLY made me think twice and I am proud to say I made it through the evening sticking to the plan. Yea us!! |
I would like to join this challenge a few days late...better late then never i guess..i am actually just restarting today, having others to answer to will keep me motivated..:carrot:

Tuesday, love that! - "Summer is near! I need to work on the rear!" :D So true, so true.... I'm right there with ya Carol and Debbie - weekend challenges and wanting to nibble when feeding the kids. Weekends are the worst for me! We eat out alot and our schedule is unpredictable. Add to that my son's (sleepover) birthday party tomorrow and it's a recipe for, well, disaster that I'll have the willpower to avoid, right? (except for a cupcake - just gotta have one!) And just yesterday, I was eyeing some potato chips as I put them into a bowl for my youngest. Boy did they look good!! But they look better in the bowl than on our hips, right ladies?!? Jill, what willpower! It's hardest when you're having 'one of those days', isn't it? We had dinner at Outback last night and they brought my son a birthday sundae. My husband leaned over and scooped up a big bite, and said to me - "Sorry!". I just looked at him and said - "No problem. I'll look better in my bathing suit than you will." Haha! So far, so good today. Am wanting to go out for drinks tonight though.......I just got totally slammed at work after not really having anything all week. I am stressed out now. Might go out for a couple, as long as I keep track in my journal and don't stray from the plan.....you know what?? Never mind! That is a REALLY bad idea. Going to the bar = drinking too much = hitting the drive-thru on the way home. I'm going home to have a glass of wine (on plan) & hang out w/ my dogs. Ugh!!! I'm struggling. Stupid weekend. |

Today went well, i had temptations again but with kids around and goodies there will always be temptations so i better get used to resisting if i want to keep the weight off long term. This is a good learning lesson for us, if we take it one day at a time and make it to a month then we'll pretty soon realize that we can do this long term and thats the ultimate goal right ladies?
My grandma came over today and brought some goodies with her that i would have loved to dig into but i'm resisting, i even made her take a dish that she made back home. how horrible but its better for me that way. I tried for all of 5 minutes to be OP. I saved two starches, two fruits (read wine with dinner), 1.5 proteins and 1 veg for dinner. But I could not resist getting crab and dipping in the butter, plus I had several rolls(table bread is my down fall), rice and a salad! Damn good if you ask me! I took a Alli with the butter and skipped desert but I must say I was not even close! I feel no guilt! Loved the dinner, the conversation and the friends! If food goes with the event so be it!
Today is another day. |

A little late but never TOO late. Ladies this is my second post today after almost two years away from the board. I need the accountability to move forward and am getting off of this board once i post this message to makeup my meal plan for the coming week. Will go shopping tomorrow for what I need.
You ladies are awesome. Keep it up. I'm back and I feel it in my bones. Although, I tried to do a little reading on this week's post and don't remember what some of the abbreviations mean. COD, I Think that's center of doom. Someone else asked about POP before I had to ask. Anyhu, I'm back p.s. I can't even remember the Plan I was on when I was here before. I failed horribly on Sunday. It was my DS best Friend's birthday, and since we are like family, we got together with them and their family for his Birthday and I ate too much and way off plan. I think this is the first time since I started this plan that I have gone this far right of plan. I am back on today, but the scale is not liking my eating habits from yesterday, and I have a horrible feeling I will have my first weekly WI where I gained, not lost. :(
I feel like I let myself down, but I have to get out of this pit I an digging and get back on the plan wagon and back on the exercise wagon. |
Well, I did the best I could this weekend... Usually I gain over the weekend, but this weekend I lost so I must've done OK even though it wasn't perfect.
My transgressions - - A planned cupcake at my son's birthday party, for which I sacrificed 2S 1F & 1D during the day (hoping to offset some calories). And for his family birthday dinner (tradition to take the birthday child out for dinner with the grandparents to the restaurant of their choice) he chose the Japanese restaurant - ugh! I did the best I could... I had the chef give all of my rice to my husband, so I had the salad (ginger dressing, no idea if that's lowfat), hibachi veggies and red snapper (cooked w/butter & excessive portion by LAWL standard, but it was so good!). Came up short 1F 1S 1D yesterday, so maybe that will help w/ the calories. I was worried that I would retain water because it was so salty, but I was down this morning and I'm pushing the water today just in case. So, even though I wasn't Perfectly OP the fact that I kept the weekend under control and lost instead of gained was a MAJOR step in the right direction for me. And I can honestly say that it was because I was committed to logging it all here this morning - so thanks!! Wish me luck. Today I step down (again) from Plan 3 to Plan 2, so I'm losing some portions. It wasn't a big deal last time, but I'm still nervous. Let's keep it going!!! We can do it! One more day! |

Weekend went well……..had a few too many liquid starches Friday night. I kept track though and just ate less starches on Sat & Sun to make up for it. I’m really busy at work this week so might not be able to check in as often. Will try at least once a day though. I got to move my ticker this morning :D. Day 7 POP!! |
