I noticed the same thing, that's why I was so interested in your progress, haha. I'm frustrated right now because on Monday (day 6) when I weighed myself I was down to 157. Today (day 8) I weighed myself and I was back up to 159! I have been sticking with both the fitness plan and the diet, so I'm not sure what caused the gain? I think I am going to add an extra cardio workout in the afternoons, because I feel like the 10 minutes of cardio just isn't enough!
What are your favorite recipes? I love the quesadillas for lunch, and really like the stir fry for dinner, I could eat it every night. But most of the dinner recipes just don't sound good to me.
Sorry I havent replied my computers been down. I know exactly how your feeling right now I was down to 158 and this week weighed in and Im at 161, Im following the plan and doing a the workouts but I gained. Its kind of disappointing but Im sticking with it.
I dont use any of the recipes in the book, I make my own food just following the 5 factor guidlines.
Well I switched from the diet to calorie counting, but still find myself incorporating the 5 factors into almost all my meals, and I still use a few of the recipes from the book. I am still doing the workout 5 mornings a week, but I go back to the gym 3-4 times a week in the afternoons to do additional cardio. I just felt like I wasn't getting enough from the 10 minutes of cardio in the workout. But I'm making progress now and am down 5.5 pounds in 2.5 weeks!
Im still at a stand still. Not losing or gaining. Im still trying though. Ive never really liked calorie counting. It works but i find it inconvienent and after awhile it becomes obsessive for me. I feel like i cant eat something unless i know exactly how many calories are in it. let me know how it goes though.
What a great thread! I plan on buying the book on the way home from work this afternoon. It sounds pretty easy, and I'm at a point where I have to do something...so tired of being tired.
I will probably have questions, but I will offer support, too.
Congrats to everyone who has lost or is sticking with it through a plateau.
i just started this diet yesterday. i lost 2.6 lbs already. i hope it keeps going!! anyways i was wondering about the cheat day. can you eat whatever you want all day or do i have to eat say chocolate cake, and then eat the 5 factor foods. thanks in advance!!!
He talks about a cheat meal, rather than a cheat day, if memory serves.
I don't eat everything I could want because I have to get rid of that excess later on and I feel it puts me "behind schedule," ha ha...
The cheat meal can be pretty much anything you want. I don't know what others do, but I limit mine to 45 minutes, otherwise my cheat meal becomes a cheat day! I try to decide if I really am craving something specific. I don't do a cheat meal every week; I wait until I really want something in particular, or I'm out to dinner or someplace where I can't get what I need, so it's nice to have that extra "insurance" when I might be away from my "normal" food.
Hope this helps, and that I've not given you incorrect information. Best of luck and keep us posted as to your progress!
Thank you Claire for your help!! It was very helpful! I'm down another 2 since the last post and tomorrow is cheat day, so I'm a little scared. haha!! Thanks again!!!

Believe it or not, I stay pretty well satisfied. I gained some weight back from diabetes medication (drat!) and eating this way is helping me push the numbers on the scale back down.
When I eat according to plan, my blood sugar stays steady and I don't have to worry about irritating the linings of my ateries and veins from sugar spikes.
My weightloss has stalled and I've been very active during the past two weeks, incorporating daily 2 mile walk/jog without any movement in the scale.
Over the weekend I watched Lady Gaga's Monster Ball Concert and was amazed at her body. She's perfectly fit without being too skinny. An online interview credited the 5 Factor Diet as a major part of her routine (in addition to all of the daning)! So I think I'll give it a try.
