Wish I coulds join you all but since I just started the program I guess I'll need to wait til I hit a plateau. Great ideas here though. I love the advise about freezing the shake and thawing before lunch. Sounds nummy. I won't be able to do the COD's shakes because I told them I was soy intolerant, so I guess if I do one of these plans, I'll have to substitute.

Interesting thing - when I signed up, because I told them I couldn't do soy and therefore couldn't do the bars, I still got the guarantee for 2 lbs per week loss and the promise of rebate if I maintain for a year. COOL

Can anyone tell me - Is Take Off different from LA Express (the thing they have you do for your first 2 days? My counselor said something today about it being more strict.

The Express is unlimited proteins and green vegs with the juice and you can use butter/oil for cooking.. no bars.

The Takeoff is 6ozs protein for the day, 2 cups raw vegs for the day, 2 Lites (bars only) and the juice.. no dairy etc.

Hope this helps!

What do you have if you can't have bars?

The Fast Forward is like an all you can eat buffet compared to Takeoff! Enjoy it whil e you can! We refer to Takeoff as (Torture Oneself -TO). Many people buy the Luna or Pria bars instead that don't use the Lites.

Enjoy!

Hey, I'd be glad to join in. Misery loves company...haha. I'd rather Torture Oneself with friends than go it alone!!
I am also wondering if we keep up with our bars during this.

ooooooooh Kristen!! You can do it!!

(I need the info for the shakes over here, too )

I would be interested to see what menu ideas everyone comes up with for the challenge - fresh ideas always help.

I really need to step up my efforts. In order to hit my goal on time, I need to lose an average of 2.3lbs/week.
I know there isn't really a race against time, - heck, I've been overweight for 9 years now, but we are going on a holiday in May, (our first vacation without the kids) and I really really wanted to be in the 150's by then!

Yes, you do the bars. TO just like every other time, and then you just substitute a Slim Down in place of a protein and a starch once a day. They recommend switching between breakfast and lunch for the slim downs, but your plan is just like any other day. The string cheese is just 1 oz rf cheese. Around 50 calories, but it is protein and some extra calcium so that the Slim Fast + Cheese = LA Slim Down.

I think those that don't do bars do Fast Forward (Katie? Anyone else?), but I'm sure you could replace w/ a Luna or other substitute if there isn't a medical reason why you're not doing the bars.

Morning Cassi!!
Have I got the break down right as shown below?

2 Days of Take Off
5 Days of Slim Down (replace 1 protein and starch with a Slim Down Shake)
1 Day following regular plan
1 Day following regular plan with a Carb Craver
5 Days of Slim Down
2 Days of Take Off

I'll go on a hunt for SLim fast products here and see what us Canucks have access to. THANK you for breaking down the Shiritaki recipie

Stay away from the RACK

Kristen - You've got the breakdown right. On the shake breakdown thread, someone posted the nutritionals on the slim downs. You guys have to have some kind of meal replacement shake up there, right?

P.S. It's not the rack that killed me, it was the swing!

Down here in the south we have ceiling fans instead of chandeliers. When they're on and moving, it makes things much more interesting.

JM - quick synopsis... Cassi's still got back trouble due to her gymnastics on the bedroom swing, don't mind her posts, she's jacked up on Vicodin.... Kristen is kicking butt and taking names at LAWL and has landed her name on the 'people to avoid' list at corporate because her COD has no lites and the one guy that delivers to all of Ontario is not due there until next week, and DAMMIT SHE WANTS SNICKERS LITES!!!!! And the rest of us are hoping to God that this slimdown challenge works!
