Default Food Question

Hi,

Does anybody know how to count soup? I love soup but have been avoiding due to my confusion. For example, if I have a bowl of chicken noodle soup with vegetables do I guess how much of each food category is in it... ie protein, carb, and vegetable or is knowing the calories the only way to go? Thanks for your help!

I do drink and eat soups.Tomato, chicken vegetalbe, lentil. I tend to decide how much of what is in them, usually not enough protein,or vegetables so I may add some more to the soup or I eat a salad on the side w/ chick peas or black beans in it. Beware of the sodium tho. Soups tend to be very highin sodium unless you buy reduced sodium soups. Homemade is actually best if you have the time.

Thanks. I made soup and cooked everything separate so I knew exactly how much of each I ate. It was so good.... I guess all the work was worth it. I wouldn't want to undo weight loss with soup...lol.

I love soup too. But Tammy is right it never has enough veggies or protein in it you have to add extra. Good for you measuring your ingredients, I just throw things in mine.....hummm maybe a lesson there for me!
