Default 10 pound challenge

Hi Everyone,

Today is the final day of my class, so I'll be back here again on a regular basis.

Well, it's official. I need to have my hip replaced. Between the metal in my back and the metal going into my hip, I'll be the new bionic woman!

I met with the surgeon today & in addition to everything else I need to do before the surgery, I need to lose 10 pounds. I'm looking at a probable date around the end of June. So, I've got about 5 weeks to lose 10 pounds. Just the right amount for the 3-hour-diet.

Who wants to lose 10 pounds by the end of June and will help me along the way?

Lynn

Girl, I am so with you on the 10 pound thing! I even woke up this morning and said I have just got to do this!

I have a big pot luck with my hubby's family Father's Day... I am the ONLY person there with a lovely curvy twervy figure LOL!!! His WHOLE family has those blessed genes that they can eat anything and everything and not gain a pound! All FIVE of the sisters are skinny minnies -even the one with five kids!!! The funny thing is that they are all SUPER healthy and into tofu, pine nuts, yoga, wheat-free, gluton free... all kinds of stuff that hurts my ears to listen to! (don't get me wrong, I love them to death! - just so envious of their super metabolisms!!)

I have told them all that I've been watching what I've been eating and I'd really like to be able to say that I've lost something significant when I see them all again.

So ready set... START! haha!

We've missed you Lynn!

Sorry to hear about the surgery, but it will do wonders for you. My mom had her second hip replaced last October. She has been out playing golf the last few weeks! Actually, she has been doing GREAT since about January, so it is not too long of a recovery - 2.5 - 3 months until you ar getting around fairly well.

I am definitely up for a 10 lb challenge. My clothes from last summer are a little bit tighter and I am NOT happy about that. I'd love for them to be a little loose or better yet, too BIG! I did lots of bike riding this weekend, so I figure it is a great time to "officially" start an exercise routine. Treadmill here I come!

I'm gonna go home and plan some meals for this week too, so that I am not flying by the seat of my pants every night!

Sure Lynn -- but I'm expecting to wake up Thursday morning after I've had a chance to recover from surgery and see that scale down 10 lbs this week -- or the surgeon might eat it! (just kidding)

Hi Lynn,

I am with you, now that I am back from vacation I need some motivation.

Sorry to hear about your hip and the operation. But if it has to be at least the pain will be gone after you recover.

So let's get started!!!!
