Let's see - he's less able to move & because of that, he's stuck in the house. Hasn't been out since before Thanksgiving. Before, he could stand to transfer from the wheelchair to the car seat. I have a lift on the back of the car to transport the wheelchair. Now, we must use an electric lift to get him from bed to the wheelchair - or from wheelchair to living room recliner. No way to get him from wheelchair to car.
Other than that, he's about the same. I'm trying to motivate him to exercise so that he can get out again, but I think the stroke really interfered with his ability to get motivated. I am signing up for county transportation van that will take him in his wheelchair. However, he can't really sit in the wheelchair for more than an hour or so. So, I don't think he can really use the van either.
Luckily, he loves sports & is greatly enjoying the olympics. I got tivo so we can record the games at night & then, he can watch them during the day. Other than tv and eating and sleeping, there is nothing that he really does. The aids are with him everyday from 8am to 2pm so I can get out. His meds cause him to sleep a LOT.
OK - that's the Donald update. Wish I had better news to report. However, at least he's NOT in the hospital. We try to look for the silver lining around here.
