Default Flax caps

How many of you are taking the flax caps as your forum of fat? I havent' been but I think I am going to go back to doing them.

What about you guys?!?

How many of you actually have the book and know what I am talking about? If you dont' have the actual book, I truely reccommend buying it cause it really helps!

Ya know this is a timely post...I just got out my Omega-3 complex supplements to start taking today. I am planning to take one at each meal. Not necessarly my fat but to help with my fat absorption...I was reading the book "You are What You Eat" and it sounds like I am lacking in the fatty acids area...hence the supplement.

I have found a very informative site from our canadian friends. Flax Council of Canada.
I expect to add both the oil and the seeds this coming week. The seeds have fabulous value as well - excellent for those who struggle to add fiber to their diet -

Just remember: water and fiber are friends! If you add fiber ADD water until you adjust!!!

Well - sure - to get the fatty acids that is definitely true -

I am just saying that adding both would be ideal. So I plan to do that next week.

That site is actually quite wonderful. There is a TON of excellent information laid out very plainly right here.

I am going to try this recipe next week I think. Of course for my purposes I will substitute ground turkey.

Hi Laurie... I saw your post on flax... well, the benefits of flax are many...I take a combination capsule of flax, borage and fish oil.. To get the benefits of the flax seeds you have to grind them... I use them in yogurt, muffins ect.. they provide lots of fiber, the omegas (if very fresh) never grind more than you can use in a day.. The recommended amt of seeds is about 1-2 Tablespoons, until more studies on the value of flax in the diet.....I use an inexpensive coffee grinder to grind mine.... Good luck on your weight loss journey.... India

I haven't actually done the math...

...but I make my protein lox (smoked salmon). I get the fatty acids, protein and taste. I'm still "adventuring" with what I can and can't have so this may be way off but it tastes good and I've lost a little weight (oh my god!)

I like the oil. I put it into my shake, soups, stews, vegetables...

Tastes good to me.

I buy the flax seed oil too. I mix it in with what ever I am eating and I usually can't taste it. If I do taste, it doesn't have a bad taste. I think it would be better to have the oil.
