Talking Hello Ladies --

I'm back

Thank's to Laurie and Lynn -- What would I do without you guys??

Anyway - here's an update. I had my last chemo on December 6th I will have surgery on March 14th to remove right breast and start reconstruction process (the whole thing takes about a year). They will put in what is called expanders and every three weeks I have to have my expanders filled with 1 ounce of fluid until I get to the size I want to be . Then I will have surgery to remove the expanders and put in the actual implants (I haven't decided whether I want silicone or saline). Silicone is more natural, but the implants eventually rupture and I don't think I want silicone running throughout my body, every if the surgeon says it is not harmful I also have to have a hysterectomy in May - my gyno wanted to do it this month - I said "no way" I am not recovered from chemo and can't take that on right now. So it looks like 2006 is the year of surgery for me. Just as long as I don't have to do chemo again

I haven't been on my scale in 4 months, because everytime I go to the doctor they weigh me in. According to their scale I put 10 pounds of the 20 I lost back on. Now, I need the whip to get me going again because for about three months I lived on milkshakes and potatoes with butter and sour cream. It was the only thing that tasted good to me and the doctor said I had to eat whatever I could - so I did!! Water tasted awful to me so I had to mix something in with it - I did drink a lot of tea. The basket you guys sent me had this Tazo Black Tea in it and that has been my lifesaver. Thank goodness the local Starbuck's carries it - I buy it all the time now.

So, here I am and ready to get back on some kind of routine, with watching what I eat, when I eat and exercise. Yes, I still have Halle, my dog. Just haven't had the energy to walk her - or, I should say she walks (runs) me!!

It's great to be back - I have missed you all - looks like some new faces I need to get to know. And now I have to start reading some posts Talk to you soon.

Teri

Hi From another Cincinnatian! Hope you are well on the mend. I'm loving our warmer weather, but I know in a few days it will be cold again. So, bundle up when you are out with your dogs!! Take care!

Hello Sonya

Ahh yes, Cincinnati!! The only place where you can have 3 changes of clothes (from shorts to snowsuit) and wear them all in the same day!!:

Hey we have been know to do it in Florida on a RARE occasion!!!

So good to hear from you again Teri, glad the chemo is over for you. Sounds like a tough year but look, the end is in site. My sister (had her right breast removed also) and has to have some adjustments made after a year. I will find out what kind of implants she chose.

Glad you are feeling up to the challenge...you'll lose the 10 lbs. quickly again.

Welcome back Teri!!! So glad to hear from you again. I have been wondering how you are getting along and am glad to hear that the chemo is behind you!

Wise choice to hold off the surgery, your body doesn't need to go through that so soon after chemo...Hope the year will be better!!!
