Hi Phyllis,
What's new?
Lynn
Hi Lynn,
Well, not too much is new.....still working a couple days a week but I joined a workout place like curves that is in the shopping center where our business is so I have no excuse not to go there!!!
Had a bad report from my kidney dr., they are only working at 25% so now I am trying to maintain that as long as possible. I feel pretty good, just get tired easier but really not bad.
I had to change from wheat products to white because of the phophorus in them??? Who knew!!! So that is one reason the weight came back (well the Christmas goodies didn't help). Other than that I am pretty much on the JC diet and try to keep my protein down a bit and staying busy.
How are you doing? Still teaching??? How is your dh....do you still have help or trying it by yourself????
Glad you are back, missed ya.
Phyllis
I'm still teaching but not right now. I begin again next week. My husband has lost a lot of mobility & I have to have aid or he can't get out of bed. Someone comes everyday from 8 AM to 2 PM. This way, I can get out to store/doctors/scrapping/etc.
What is this about your kidneys? Do you have to have dialysis? Is there medication you can take?
I missed you gals also. I thought about coming back, but was really embarrassed by my performance last time. Then, when I got Laurie's email, I decided to take her up on her invitation.
I'm glad I did. I really feel like I'm back home again.
This time I'm determined to do well.
Lynn
No, no meds and no dialysis at this point. The only thing I can do is keep my blood pressure down, which it is good right now. But losing weight and mainly the exercise might help. It is really hard not to be able to do much of anything to help. They will never get better but hopefully I can hold 25% for a long while. I held at 40% for years....this has been a slow progression caused by heart disease.
I am glad you have help with Don and your chance to get out and do things. I know from my Mothers being in a wheelchair that it is hard on the caregiver.
Take care of yourself.
We are trying to keep a positive attitude here and I am going full guns to do everything I can. I read about the white flour vs. w.wheat on line so I am switching over now to try and help things along and cutting down on protein. Another test in March....we'll see.
Hey, we all missed your posts here.........wish we would hear from Terri, I don't have any means of contact with her, hope she is doing well.
Good luck on the challenge......hey maybe you will win!!!!
Phyllis
I went to my doctor's office today. All of his nurses/office staff are having a pool to see who loses the most weight in January. I wanted to join, but they said that given the fact that I lost weight over the holidays, they don't want me in their pool - I would be sure to win.
I think I actually have my motivation back. I hope so. As long as it is here, I feel like I can do anything. But once it leaves, it's really hard to find again. Silly, but I really feel like I have no control over it.
Take care of yourself.
Lynn
