Default * ~ A new find ~ *

Ok here's a new item I found in Harris Teeter yesterday! Its a new kind of oatmeal, its by Quaker and its Weight Control Oatmeal. It comes in cinnamon and banna bread flavors. I has 7 grams of protein and 6 grams of fiber. It has 160 calories and 3 grams of fat. My mom ate it yesterday morning for breakfast and she had to make herself eat lunch at 2pm. She wasn't hungry so I am thinking it has something to do with all the protein and fiber it has in it, its keeping her full longer. So I got some to try!

I did like it and one thing I noticed is with the regular or flavored Quaker oatmeal you put some water or milk it in and you only get about 1/2 a cup but with this oatmeal I think it fluffs up to an entire cup! LOL! It was really good, the secret is to make sure you stir it up really well.

I eat the old fashioned oats I like mine with a baked apple and I sprinkle some cinnamon on it. I don't drink milk so I never have added milk to my oatmeal but it still is yummy .

Laurie: Are these instant oats, or do you have to cook them?

Instant and they only have 2 grams of sugar versus 23 grams of other Quaker oatmeal

Has anyone seen the commercial for this oatmeal - it is a hoot!! Everyone is dragging a scale behind them - it is chained to their leg. Look out for it - too funny. This is how I feel sometimes!!
