Default *Sparkle*tude... with added tips...

Weird word, huh?

Our keynote speaker at the Stampin' Up! convention was Sheryl Roush, and she talked about "Sparkle-tude", which is basically having a positive attitude.
It was a GREAT presentation, and really forced me to do a self-check on my own attitude. I came away feeling like I had a new outlook on life, and am now bound and determined to be a "glass is half full" kind of gal.

Anyway, I thought I'd share a few things with you all, because although the presentation was aimed at helping us to be creative and manage stress in our Stampin' Up! businesses, much of what she said I think will be applicable to us in our weight loss journey as well..

So here are her 7 Sparkle-tude Attitude Boosters:

1. Start the day on a positive note
2. Have only positive thoughts towards yourself and others
3. Look for the good in yourself and others
4. Believe in yourself, your talents, and your unique gifts.
5. Don't take things personally.
6. Affirm a spirit of gratitude throughout the day.
7. Utilize your unconditional support systems. (pets, faith/beliefs, passion/hobbies, special people)

She also gave us a list of ideas to beat burnout, stay positive, manage stress and be successful. I will share those a few at a time, so as not to overwhelm you.

1. Honor your feelings. Allow yourself to feel each one of them without having judgements regarding them, feeling guilty, or discounting them.

2. Honor your body. Be sensitive to subtle warning signs (lost equilibrium, blurred vision, skin rashes, headaches, back pain, fatigue, loss of sleep), and take acktion to rejuvenate, relax and replenish.

3. Seek help. Chiropractic care, acupuncture, massage, Chinese herbs, facial, yoga, counseling, therapy.

4. Talk to true friends. Ask for emotional support.

We do number four here!!!!!

Just a few thoughts for the day! I hope you all have a wonderful week, and come here often for support!!!

LLLove,

jessica...that is great.... i to have been doing reading on a similar subject. did you know that one of ben franlins sayings was " i speak no ill will of anyone but look for the good in everyone", guess that is why he was such a influential person.

another great book is "the present". it talks about living in the present, learn from your past and use what you learned to help plan your future. sometimes i get really busy and then have to remind myself that my kids will be doing what they are doing only once so i stop and just give them 100%. it helped me to prioitize what is most important in my life.

Shannon,

Benjamin Franklin is my absolute favorite historical person. I based an educational leadership course on his autobiography. If everyone lived his/her life according to his principles (although, sadly, not according to his behavior), the world would be a MUCH better place.
