I am busier than a one armed paperhanger!! This is worse than trying to get ready for vacation. I will need the rest after surgery to catch my breath and to catch up with you guys. Work is extremely busy because I do just about everything for BB (big boss). The girls in the office are panicking because they will have to deal with him and nobody wants too!! That should tell you something.

I have meals coming for the next month - between neighbors, co-workers, church family, I shouldn't have to cook for a long time. Works for me!! The only problem, and its a biggy, is money. When I don't work, I don't get paid. My paycheck (small as it may be) really makes a difference. So that has me concerned. I am considered part time (9-3), but lately I have been working 8:30-4:30 (full time, to me). So I don't get benefits - although I should. Anyway, I asked BB for two weeks paid vacation (which I don't norally get). He said he would have to think about it. I'm thinking - "you better think real hard, buddy" - I may start looking again

I have started doing something fun, though. Last night I enrolled in a jewelry making class. I made a bracelet and two pairs of earrings. It was a blast. I bought some tools (only 3) to make my own at home. So, while I am off work and sitting on my butt recuperating, I can make jewelry.

Thanks for checking up on me. I am sure I will be on here a lot more next week and I want to get on YIM - I had a lot of fun the other night!!

Teri,

Your attitude is great! I would love to see pictures of your jewelry when you get some complete

Can you possibly get disability while you are out?

Teri...You are such a strong woman!!! That boss BETTER give you paid vacation or else he may have a bunch of women comin over there to shove something down his throat and it wont be pills!!!!!! LOL......

The jewelry making class sounds really cool..Ive never heard of that in my area..is it one of those things I call "Guilt parties"..like pampered chef, tupperware, etc.??? The jewelry making sounds cool tho...would not qualify as a guilt party in my OP!!

That is great timing...that you have the stuff to do something for you and something fun to pass the time while you recoup!!

Hang in there..we're thinking bout you!!!! Hugs!!!!!!!!!

Thank you all for your words of encouragement. I am not strong, believe me - I have been struggling. Keeping busy helps me to not think about the surgery. I am taking "one day at a time" and "living in the present". I do not go beyond today - because we never know what tomorrow will bring. I am thankful for today and for my family and friends (you guys, especially)! The timing of all this with JC has been amazing. The LL's have been more than a weight loss support group for me. I love getting on here and seeing everyone's pictures and hearing about your families and what is going on in your life. I am still OP and losing weight (very slowly - must find picture of snail) - found one!!!

Becky - The Bead Shop is in a little store by where I work. They sell beads and things to make jewelry. Shop is owned by a mom and her two daughters and they make the most beautiful necklaces and bracelets. I found out they offered classes and I signed up. I made a jade/silver/pearl bracelet with earrings to match and another pair of earrings. I loved making the jewelry. I bought the supplies (yea - I don't have any money to be doing that, but, oh well). I have big plans for jewelry making - I will keep you posted. The next thing I want to do is make clay beads that you color and design yourself and then make bracelets and necklaces with them. Very creative and lots of fun.

Dory, no - I don't get disability. Boss is very cheap (he has millions) and I know how he got that way. Not giving any of it up. The rich get richer, you know!! He still hasn't said anything about giving me two weeks pay while I am off - so get your walkin shoes on and swing by my way before you to go Becca's. This is me kicking boss's you know what - hehehe

Well, back to the grind for now. Thank you all again for your prayers and support.

Hey Teri! The jewelry making sounds like fun!I wish I were creative or crafty...then I would have something to do with my hands besides eat or smoke!!!Hehehehe!Your boss sounds a lot like Angela's DH boss....her DH has been promoted 3 times in the past 3 years...and each time he is NOT given a raise...and yet he sticks it out...hoping that sooner or later...well you get the idea. You keep busy and stay positive...do whatever works for you!You are not giving yourself the credit you deserve however....you have a lot of support but its how YOU accept things and use that support that makes it work....so.....give yourself some credit woman! You are a HUGE inspiration to me,if it weren't for you and your upbeat attitude and sense of humor I wouldn't have been able to tackle the things in my life lately. Thanks so much for being you!stay strong...
Love Ya!

Sorry you don't get disability, that stinks. Mean boss! Should we all send him mean boss cards?

Hang in there, we are all here for you.
