  • Hello everyone! I'm Gordie from Manila, Philippines.
I stumbled across this site by searching for size acceptance articles and I am oh so happy that I clicked the link! Seriously though.. who could resist a name like 3fatchicks.. subtract 1 and that reminds me of my sister and me.

I've been overweight nearly all my life. Along with that comes a nearly lifelong battle with the bulge and the folds.. those damn pounds that seems to have grown some feet and are stepping on the scale when Im on it while not really looking.. plus the usual encounters with mean people... but let's not go there...

I've browsed through the forums before I registered and I thought.. oh my goodness... finally I've found a great site with a wealth of information and such great support from everyone.

I'm so glad to be here and I hope to make many friends!

I'm 5'7" and I weigh at 250lbs. I would like to lose nearly half of myself buuuuuuuut.... I'll set a mini-goal.. so.. from 250-225.

    God Bless! and peace!

  • Magandang gabi, Gordi!

I lived in the Greenhills/Mandaluyong area. I worked for a Christian organization with a Filipino group (along with 6 other nationalities) providing help to those affected by the Mt. Pinatubo destruction, as well as street children and others. The devastating destruction of what Mt. Pinatubo did to so many people was heartbreaking... we were able to be a part of taking up some food and basic relief supplies. Some of the people we met had literally run for their lives the day before, fleeing from the volcano! Whew!

The Filipino people were super friendly and so much fun... really knew how to have a good time; I learned to laugh at myself a lot more. Made more than my share of cultural/language blunders too.

You undoubtedly know where the Greenhills shopping center is... our office was about a mile or so down Wilson Blvd, and I lived a couple blocks around the corner from that, down at the bottom of the hill in an upstairs apartment over a beauty shop. Good thing I was upstairs as all the water came right down that hill during rainy season!

What area of the US are you planning to reside in if you are able to come? Have you been here before?

Nope I am not into IMing because of time constraints... pretty much confine myself to email and forums. But feel free to PM me if you would like!

    Sige na
  • PMing it is.. I'll do that right now lol
  • Hello and welcome!!! This place truly is like hitting the jackpot. It has been great for me so far in the short time that I've been on it, I hope it's great for you as well, I have no doubt that it will be just that.

I'm not from the Phillipines but my uncle is about to move there with his new wife, she's from there. He loves it there.
