Hi, I saw this site and thought wow this is just what I need to get me motivated. I have been thinking about losing weight for ever it seems. I seem to start with good intentions but never follow through...My boys have made it very clear that I need to do something and they are willing to work with me. They have let me know that they are worried I will not be around to see them grown with children of their own. It's made me determined to lose the weight and become a healthy person. I know my boys will be supportive, but sometimes someone who is going through the same thing understands where you're coming from.

Hi Betty, this is my first post and I know what you mean. In December, 2004 after a nasty divorce and custody battle, I had a major meltdown. I decided that I was sick and tired of being sick and tired and that as a single mom, I needed to be there for my sons, but more importantly for myself. I joined WW and lost 35 pounds in 6 months and have maintained that weight for the past year. The one thing that I have learned thru all of this is that if I'm not happy, I cannot be a good mother, friend, etc. Take the time that you need to become healthy and remember that there is A LOT of support out there.
You guys are welcome to come down and chat with us in the Bck (suppose to be Back, but we can't spell -lol) In Kindergarten #10 thread in the misc. clubs!
Would love to chat and support you in your weight loss journey
