Hello, have you figured this website out yet? I am still fumbling around trying to find information. What plan are you on and how is it going?

Default yeah! I finally found my way back

it took me forever to find where i had sent you the email! but i have added it to my list so hopefully I won't have as much trouble as before. I am getting ready to start George Stella's "Stella Style" low carb/low cal plan...not really sure what he calls it, but I am going to follow his cook books and since I was on Atkins before I understand most of it already. I need to go shopping and get my kitchen in order, but I do have teenage sons so I can't throw out all the junk!

Anyway how are you doing today? everything working out so far? How do you like SB by the way? I was looking into that.

Talking It is nice to see so many new names here

I had a pretty good weekend. No that's not true... I ate way too much of everything! I had fun, but ate poorly. Got to try harder What is everyone here doing to lose weight? What plan are you doing and are you having any luck with it?

(lovedaisigirl) What grade do you teach? My mother in law is a school teacher also by the way. I am trying to get her to exercise with me and now that she too is out of school for the summer maybe we will do better.

Unhappy Atkins? Low Carb? Low Calorie? Which is best?

JerseyGirl: are you having luck with Atkins? I see that you have been following Atkins since 2004, so I guess it must be working for you? I tried Atkins once and had some success with it (15 pounds) but it was difficult to follow or maybe I just had little drive to stay on it any longer. I felt deprived even though after a while I did stop craving carbs (but I always craved sweets, that never stopped). My husband lost 20 and we both had a ton of energy. How have you staying with it for so long?

Default Also new...to this forum

Well I'm going to do what I vowed I wouldn't do again...and that is attempt to reduce my obese body to a more normal size....I promised myself the "last" time that it would be the last...but there are way too many things I still want to do in my life to be willing to give up any number of years.

I am 58 years old...have been dieting most of my life....I have also struggled with the whole scope of eating disorders at some point in this journey and really hope to avoid most of those pitfalls this time......*fingers crossed here*

My doctor has been pestering me for 3 years to have gastric bypass surgery. I do have a disasterious family history of cardiac events and strokes but so far have been lucky to be able to maintain my blood pressure with medications....I absolutly don't want the surgery...and feel I should be able to do it without....What we compromised with was that I'd use a modified version of MediFast for 10 weeks...and then switch to a heart smart program for the remaining year or so that it will take....I've probably done every program that is out there (including the original Atkins and Stillman carb deprived programs in the late 60s early 70s) so I am going to be monitoring my ketone spills very carefully and not allow them to get into the excessive range....

I chose "baby steps" for my name because that is the hardest part of the whole thing for me...I want it all and I want it now and even though I "know" that isn't possible it is still something I struggle with....That, and as premature as it may seem at 276 pounds....the struggle to know when to stop...

Anyway....I'm hopeful, and try to sit on that nasty thought that keeps trying to enter my head that I will fail......and welcome any help and support from each of you...hopefully I'll be able to help you in your journey as well....
