Hi,
I'm new here. I had a baby last summer and am trying to lose the weight I put on during the pregnancy. I put on over 50 lbs because:
- I gave up cigarettes when I found out I was pregnant
- I was put on a lot of extra insulin (I'm diabetic)
- My thyroid gland went under-active (but is nearly back to normal now)
- I was actually slightly underweight before I became pregnant and the doctor told me that because of this, it was natural that I gained a lot of weight, INITIALLY
- and, of course, because I ate my way through the pregnancy!

I have lost 23 lbs so far but still have a way to go before I'm back at my original weight. To be honest, I'm finding it
extremely difficult to deal with the changes that happened to my body as a result of the pregnancy (i.e. stretch marks, cellulite, changes to my stomach and breasts...). I have suffered from anorexia in the past so this makes it twice as difficult. Obviously now that I have a baby I have to make sure that I'm well so I'm trying to do this as healthily as possible.
Anyway, that's all for now. Looking forward to chatting with you all.
K.
