Talking I finally got started

Hello all. Last Sunday I told my husband I was going on a diet (again) the following day. I bought some lean cuisine meals after reading an article in my favorite magazine Woman's World. So the next day Monday I started and I did not think I was ready. I started a journal that day and it has me so much and I started walking with and the kids went with me and last night my husband and the dogs came too. I have to take the whole the whole process day by day. I have not cheated once and this past week and a half seems like it's been months, so it's not easy but it is do-able. I just wanted to talk with some people who are in my status is all. Have a great day.

Patty:
Congratulations on your success! I know it's really hard to diet when you have to feed your family. I never could stick to it for a long time because of all the temptations. Now I'm on my own and it's easier.

I admire you for doing this and also incorporating the exercise. Take good care of yourself and make sure you are eating enough.

Hey Pattykaye, the first while of making lifestyle changes is really hard! It does get easier after time and just becomes more habit than anything as long as you stick with it. You can do it, and just don't beat yourself up if you slip and get right back to it.

Hi everyone,
I live in Sydney Australia. I am posting in a few threads - need lots of support and a chance to talk to other people also needing support. This is day 4 for me following WW. So far so good.
Love to hear from you all

Default Thanks everyone

Thank you everyone for the great replies and the enthusiasm you are offering. Today is day 11 and I'm down 11 pounds. Little did I know that when I started this I was premenstrual and bloated so quite a few of the pounds are water weight and I accept that.

I am trying to make sure I eat enough. The cool thing is that the other night when I made homemade lasagna for the family, I had one of my lean cuisine lasagna's plus a salad. My husband made chicken parmesan last night and I had a lean cuisine with a salad and a side of low fat cottage cheese and some pineapple chunks.

Tonight will be my big test, the first time going out to a restaurant. My 13 year old has her induction ceremony into the National Junior Honor Society and to reward her we are letting her pick where she wants to go and she picked Denny's. I love Denny's pancakes. I can do this.......you think they'll heat up one of my lean cuisines for me????????? LOL Oh well, Thanks for the support ladies.

It isn't easy, but it is a mindset. I myself am only on Day 11 of being less fat. We can support one another along with this wonderful site.

Glen, thank you for the feed back, I have already started incorporating salad, fresh vegetables and more fruit. As I keep going I will start to test the recipes. My big problem right now is, I'm starting out and just keeping myself on track with the calories is trying enough for me. As I get more comfortable I will incorporate the rest of the family. Thanks for your concern about the sodium.

I also started out with lean cuisine, with me it made it alot easier with portion size.. Once I got more comfortable with protions I would have more of a home made meal.. I still have lean cuisine alot, its just easier with long days.. Plus they have a wide variety to choose from.. I know they say theres alot of sodium in these types of meals. but the way I look at it, I use to eat out alot, always had to biggy size everything.. I'm think a lean cuisine meal is alittle better for me then what I use to eat.. Good luck and keep up the good work.. Danette

Well I went to Denny's last night and did not make a good chose from the menu. My body definitely did not like what I was putting in it that is for sure. The good news is I didn't gain any weight from my meal.

I got right back on track today though. I started a new job part time yesterday and just take one of my Dole's tangerine in jello cups and eat it as a snack in the morning and have my lean cuisine when I get home for lunch.

I am so ready to lose the weight this time, this is such a good avenue for me to share and listen to others and I am so thankful for it.
