Default A Sure-Fire Way To Lose: Capture The Motivation!

Last night on ABC there was a report about people who were challenged to lose 15#. Before the weight loss efforts began, they had their picture taken in a tiny bikini. If they didn't lose the weight, the picture would be aired on t.v. for all to see. They had 6 or 8wks. to lose the weight. The fear of humiliation was the motivating factor- and EVERYONE of the participants lost weight! To stay motivated, one woman even had her cell phone greet her with the message "Bikini On T.V." everyday. Each person y had the ever present fear of being seen, exposed at their unflattering worst, for all to see!
BTW, many of the participants lost MORE than the 15# reqired. Only one woman didn't lose the required 15#. She "only" lost 13#. Her picture wasn't aired on t.v. It was all a big experiment- but they all believed it was real.
To me, this is facinating. It would definitely work for me! I'm going to have my sister take a pic of me in a bikini and show it to everyone if I don't lose 15#. Anyone want to join in? I'm going to plan on having party and have my sis show my picture IF I haven't lost the weight. Yep, that's right. Anyone want to join in?

I saw the same show and my sister and her niece are all motivated and ready to lose the fat! We're not going so far as to take the bikini pictures, but we are going to take our pictures in an outfit that we want to get back into. We're going to work hard and give each other support and on Mother's Day weekend, we'll try the clothes on again and see how they fit. If there's a noticeable difference, we're safe. If not, we have to let the others see us in our bra and undies. We're also going to choose something each week we're not allowed to eat (or do), like a certain food, no second helpings, no eating after a certain hour, etc. If we indulge in the off-limits thing for that week, we owe the other two $1 each to go in their cruise account. (We're going on a cruise in Jan '07.) So we're on board, but with a twist!

Alright, sounds as if you're motivated and supported...which is, as many studies have shown, so important in the journey toward weight loss! The "support" part is lacking in my journey. My husband LIKES me fat. I don't know why, because I'm miserable. It's probably just a case of him being comfortable with the way I am. It would be great to have him say, "I'm going to change my way of eating as well, and get on board with you." He could stand to lose about 30# too. Ugh! It's difficult to stick with it when temptation is in every cupboard.

Those are fantastic ideas! I would join in but I'd have to lose a **** of a lot more than 15 pounds to be seen in a bikini.
