What are your fitness/health goals? I'm pretty self conscious about everything, so I'd like to be able to feel *great* about my body and have that be one less worry. I'd like to be able to go for a run, keep up with my son, etc. My dad and a couple of my siblings are diabetic and my dad has a couple of other health problems, so with that in mind I'd like to lose the extra weight, eat healthier and be active.
What was the "trigger" or incident that made you decide it was time to lose weight and become more fit? Johnny and I stay around the same weight, so when he weighed himself at work one day and said he was up to 170 I thought, "uhoh, I can't be far behind." I was 164, the heaviest I've ever been, so I decided to do something about it. As an added bonus for motivation - my baby brother is getting married this summer and I'm a bridesmaid. It will be almost a year since we left before we're home again, so I want to look fabulous when we go home for vacation!
What do you struggle with the most on this journey to health? I'm doing low carb, and I was so used to eating something like rice, potatoes, pasta or bread with every meal. I miss them a lot more than things like sweets.
What are three things in the area of diet/exercise you need to improve? Motivation to work out. Drinking my two litres of water a day. Eating more vegetables.
(Evil motivation) Who do you want to look better than?: Not so much that I want to look better than anyone else, I just want to look like a better version of myself. Maybe how I looked before my son was born, only better. I know Johnny loves me to death anyway, but I want to look better for him too.
What can you not wait to wear when you are at goal weight or size? A lot of things. In particular, I have this pair of size 29 shorts that I wore the summer I got pregnant - I'd love to be able to fit into them again! I've been hanging onto them, just out of wishful thinking I guess. Now I'm actually doing something to make it happen.
