Default I'm new here!

Hi everyone. I'm new here and I barely found out how to post. Really just here for support and tips. My long term goal is to lose about 80 lbs. I really wanted to lose it by June 29th because I'm going back home for a visit. But i know that's not realistic. I guess my biggest problem is that I need to stop having these unrealistic goals because when I don't succeed it just brings me down and farther away from where I want to be. And i Hope this site really helps me. You all look like a fun bunch!!

Hi Rosario! Welcome I'm Amy and have been coming to this site on and off for the past two years. I lost about fifteen pounds last Feb/March but have since gained it back. I'm trying to lose around 35-40 pounds and hope to accomplish that by exercising atleast 3-4 times a week and making better food choices. I'm not going to give myself a time frame and if I feel great after losing 20 pounds then so be it. This time I plan on taking baby steps and applauding ALL successes. This could mean not having to do the blue jean dance when trying on a new pair, or passing up on fast food and going home for something healthy or just going outdoors for a walk instead of laying in front of the tv. All of those things are worth celebrating. Don't beat yourself up trying to lose the weight too fast, it may set you up for failure and a failure you are not! You are a winner, always remember that b/c you have taken the innitiative to do something about your weight. Feel free to send me a message anytime you feel like celebrating a success or if you feel bad b/c you gave in to a craving, I'll be there to listen and offer a kind word! Talk to you later...

Amy

I agree with Alora. It was a hard thing for me to learn to celebrate the 5 pounds I lost instead of dwell on the 5 that I didn't.
