Default yes, it's another *newbie*

Hey peeps! How are you? I have just started the weight watchers program and will need help and support and figured this would be a GREAT way. My MAIN goal is to lose 45 lbs. as quickly as possible, do you think that is attainable for a 6 mo. period? I sure hope so....that will put me down to 150 lbs. which is ideally where I want to be. So what do you think?

Thanks!

As I am sure that most people will tell you, losing weight is not about losing it quickly. I, like you, want my weight to be gone as quickly as possible. However, to have lasting results, it will take time and effort. Try not to be so worried with the number on the scale.

When I was at my highest, I kept thinking, "Ugh, I just want to be skinny NOW!" But as I lost weight, I started enjoying the small changes my body made, which eventually translated into even bigger changes. Now, I am still 35 pounds away from goal, but I am more comfortable with myself. I'm still not where I want to be, but it's not so important that everything is immediate.

Be consistent and the weight will come off. It may not come off as fast as you like, but if you remain consistent, it will indeed come off and you will gain confidence, patience, and strength.

Default Hi there....

I lost 50 pounds, but it took 2 years. I think it took me 3 years to gain all the weight and then I got preggers on top of that. However, slowly losing gave my body and my skin a chance to bounce back. I would not be as concerned with losing it so fast. It took time to get to where you are, it will take time to get back. I did it by walking and cutting back on portion size and snacking. Think 1 pound a week max.

I still want to lose about 20 more pounds, and I want to try to do it in 6 months. Lets encourage each other, hang in there!

Default okie dokie

I walked a lot to lose the weight, but I am not a big fan of exercise. I would just go for walks. It's better than sitting on the couch, and even though I never walked too hard, It still helped. I also do some free weights for my upper body, but not in a while. I need to dig those out of my closet and start working on it again. Maybe I walked 5 miles a week when I was losing?

Okay - that makes me feel A LOT better - because I don't mind walking but I can't hardly make myself exercise everyday. Did you walk on asphault or treadmill or a mix.....???

Default I walked around the block...

When I drove my car, I would make a note of how far half a mile was from my house, then walk there and back so I knew I walked a mile. I would also wear a watch and time it, to see how fast I could go. As I got faster, I would add some distance. I know if I bought a treadmill I would never use it, it would turn into a really expensive towel rod haha!
Talk to you soon.
