Smile Hi, I'm new, too:)

Hi everyone,
I finally decided to stop lurking around here and finally commit to losing some weight. I love how supportive everyone is of each other and hope to share in the weight loss I've been overweight mostly all my life, partly because of my thyroid and partly because of my love-hate relationship with exercise but it's really starting to interfere with my life and health. I'm reaching the big 3-0 in 2006 and would love to lose some weight simply to make me healthier. I've tried before but now I believe that I can really reach a healthier weight and am really committed to it. So, I thought I would introduce myself properly so I can delurk and start getting to know everyone here

I'm always too tired to do exercise...but I'm gonna try to either a. wake up earlier and do it or b.just push myself to get up after work and go, even if I have to go to the gym directly after work. I have to start doing it because even at my young age, my good cholesterol is not where it should be and my bad is not as low as I would like. Add that to the fact that heart disease is the #1 killer of women and I'm headed for a disaster if I don't. So, I really am not following a specific diet plan as I don't want a diet but a healthy life plan, if that makes sense. I'm trying to follow mostly the Okinawa Program, which is mostly veggies, fruits, whole grains and little red meat. I used to be a vegetarian a while ago and that worked for me, so I'm hoping to start eating healthy again.
