Default Hello there, another Newbie!

My name is Sarah and yup, I am Irish, hence the name. LOL! I was born in Ireland but have lived in the US all my life.

Anyway, I am a SAHM with three small boys. One just turned 6, the other 3 1/2 and a new baby that is 5 1/2 weeks old. I have been with my husband for 10 years. Some of those years seem VERY long. I am 30, (oh MAN! 30!!?!?! ACK!) and really, really need to loose all this weight that has snuck up on me over the past 6 years.

I am a bored eater, plus I love to cook (I attended cullinary school)...I am also an emotional eater and I've had lots of reasons to eat over the past 6 years. It looks like I am done having kids so it is time to get serious about loosing this weight. My most motivation factor right now (besides wanting some energy!!!) is that my husband's best friend is getting married in August and my ex-boyfriend will be there with his wife! This is THE ex. the one that you wonder what would have happened IF...
Well, anyway, he just CAN NOT see me this FAT!!!!

I have ALOT of weight to loose. At the end of this pregnancy I hit 275lbs and I am only 5ft 4!!!!! It is so depressing to admit! I thoght I still looked pretty good until I had an encounter with a full length mirror! I was HORRIFIED! I have lost the weight from this pregnancy, now I just have to get rid of the rest of it that has piled up. I am hoping to get to 155lbs, it seems like a reasonable goal to me. I'd like to be less then that, but I would be happy if I got to that number.

Well, sorry to be so long winded, but that's my story. I found you guys through the I Dream of Baby boards. I have heard great things about this place and its members. I can't wait to get to know you all!

You and I sound alot alike. I would love to be your buddy. I have been looking for someone I can talk to everday via email or on here. I post on my thread about everday to everyone in general. I too have alot of weight to loose and I have 2 small boys. My oldest is 4 and my youngest is 4 months. I am currently on WW and hoping to loose at least 65 lbs but would like to loose more than that if possible. I am an emotional eater and a bored eater. I feel I need something to nibble on all the time. THANK GOD for 94% FF popcorn. Its only 1 pt on WW. Ive also been working out 5 or 6 days a week. I have been back on WW for about 2 weeks now and have dropped 9lbs. I think thats pretty good. I think that you can loose the weight and I am here to support you. Good luck. There is more about me on my thread if you wanna check it out.

Red face Welcome!

Hi Sarah,

Welcome to the group. I just joined myself. I'm a quarter Irish (my dad's side).

I'm 32, so I know how you feel about turning 30. I still remember being 21, but boy does that seem so long ago.

I just started dieting yet again. I feel like I've spent the better part of my adulthood trying to lose weight. It's always so easy to put on and so hard to take off!!!

Good luck to you.

Lisa

What a day! Thank you all for your warm welcomes! I really need to get serious and start working at this weight loss thing. It seems like once I lost the baby weight (which was the easy part) I just stopped trying.
*SIGH* There just are not enough hours in the day! My baby just turned 6 weeks old and will NOT let me put him down. I can't seem to get anything done, let alone eat well and excersize.
