Red face Newbie Here ...

Hello All! Well let me say that today has been one of the WORST days I have had in a LONNGG time! , which leads me to why I am here today! I am at an all time low in my life right now, for many reasons, which Im sure Ill have an opportunity to get into at a later date. But first and foremost, I must focus on my weight issues. I am at the heaviest I have ever been, weighing in at 362 .. YIKES!! I have been up and down in my weight so many times now that I have a really tough time sticking to any "diet" these days. Recently, I have been going on alot of job interviews (about 2 a week) ~ all of which seemed to have went extremely well ~ yet, no call backs! Im beginning to think that my weight may be an issue here. Don't get me wrong, I "carry" my weight well (as funny as that may sound, lol), I dress very professionally, I have tons of work experience AND a degree. So, what's the problem? Has anyone else experienced what they felt to be weight discrimination in the workplace? or am I alone here? Maybe Im having a pity party today, who knows? But I do not know where else to go for support. I stumbled across this message board during my search for some way to "vent" my frustrations and maybe find some folks with similar issues. I hope I have come to the right place! At any rate .. Here's to me making much needed changes in my life ater all, once you hit rock bottom, the only way left to go is up, right?

Thanks for welcoming me on my thread so I am here to welcome you. I have been a member here forever but I hadnt been on the site in about 3 years. I had been working and lost weight then got pregnant and havent worked for almost a year so I have gained alot of weight and really need to get it off. I totally understand your frustrations. I feel the same way alot. Some days I just wanna break down and cry. Ive done 'ok' the last 3 days on WW. I hope to have MANY MANY MORE days of doing good. Do you have a weight loss plan? Im here to talk if you want to. I love to talk and encourage other. Im good at that. Its getting my butt up and exercising that I am having trouble with.

Yes and No ~ which my Fiance always tells me that means more "no" than "yes" lol .. But it's true .. I havent really come up with a PLAN, per se .. I have gained alot of weight and am at the heaviest, at 362, that I have ever been in my life .. And, as much as I have been dieting throughout my life, this time seems so different for me. I really do not know where to start.

I made my first attempt at "exercise" on wednesday this week. I walked to our rental office, which is only 1 street up and over about a half a block from our townhouse, and back. It was terrible. I had no idea I was THAT out of shape. Don't get me wrong, I carry this weight well and am told by several people, including my doctor, that I do not "look" like I weigh this much. Im obviously overweight, by all means .. but then I realized just how inactive I really am too. If that makes any sense ..

At any rate, I have walked this same route everyday since wednesday and I have to admit .. it wasnt so bad this morning .. so I guess that's a good thing! I plan to keep walking this route until it gets easier for me and then I will map out a longer route... Im looking into investing in a treadmill or joining a gym so I cannot use bad weather as an excuse not to walk .. lol

As far as "diet" goes .. I have not selected a particular diet to follow, as I usually do not stick to any of them .. and I have tried MANY .. the two that I had the best results with in the past were the "choose 2 lose" and the "atkins" .. I think I am going to try to combine both of their basic principles and create my own kind of "diet" this time. Since my father used to always cook for any army growing up and it was common for us to eat 2nds and 3rds, not to mention everything fast food is super-sized these days . I have no clue what a normal portion size should "look" like .. so I plan on measuring my food out before I eat, and I do plan on watching my carb intake but not cutting them out completely .. I dont want to feel deprived of too much because Im afraid I wont stick to it ..

so, there you have it .. my "plan" .. lol .. any suggestions you may have would GREATLY be appreciated.. and Thanks again for all your kind words and support! I'm SOOO glad I joined this board !!

welcome,
im fairly new hear too but i wish u all the best with your weight loss.

remeber to set yourself attainable goals then when u surpass themm you have something even better to celebrate oover
take it one step at a time and surround yourself with positive people and if the people who are closest to you aren't being very supportive be your own biggest supporter at the end of the day you are the one who will benefit the most from losing weight.

Sounds like you are doing good with the walking. WTG! I think you have thought alot about this and really know what will work for you and what will not. Just stick to your guns (easier said than done) and Im sure the weight will just start to fall off.

I know its super hard to eat right. Its its for me anyway. I find it harder to eat right than I do to exercise. I dont mind working out once I get up and get started. Its the getting started thats so hard.

Good luck. It will get easier as the days pass (or at least thats what I keep telling myself.)
