Post Looking for a buddy!!!

Hey, I am 30 years old am finally going to do something about the 100lbs I have been putting on since I got married almost 8 years ago. I have a goal of losing 105lbs and have lost 5lbs as of joining this group on 7/25/05. I am kind of going with the Atkins diet because I am borderline diabetic and I just like how I feel when I am on the Atkins...well after the first 2 weeks. I am looking for a buddy to 'team up with'. Someone I can root on and someone who will do the same for me. I am a stay at home mom of 3 kids (8, 4 and 2) who enjoys scrapbooking, reading, reality tv, dancing and swimming. I HATE exercising!! To me it is a 4 letter world. I know I need to though and I think once I get started I will be happy.

Hi! I'm Jenni, 27, 4 kids with 1 on the way. I've picked up about 80 lbs that I would love to put back down! Doc has said I need to start excercising (YUCK!) drinking more water, and eating healthier now. And although he doesn't really want me to lose any weight yet, he says if I start making lifestyle changes now that the weight will come off quicker after baby and I will have started some much needed good habits. I live in IN, and posted here about a year ago before getting discouraged with my progress and giving up yet again. I didn't have any good 'buddies' though so I'm looking for a buddy who will know if I don't show up for a few days and will pester me to come back. Let me know if your interested in a prego bud.

Hi, we have very similiar case, I'm 30 years old stay home mom with 8 yrs old boy & 3 yrs old girl. I want to take off at least 100 lbs from my body but I hate excerise too. I really want to start my diet plan, but I always have so many excuses for myself, I need a buddy to help me and support me!! I read lots of books about diet and of course waste lots of money on many products but still the same size. Especially being a Chinese I feel even worse cause most of Chinese have smaller figure, (except for me)

Hi ya'll! I am in the same boat as you all.. I'm 30, a SAHM of 3 -- ages 6, 2 1/2, and 5 months old, and I have been married for almost 7 years. My overall goal is to get sown to the weight I was when I met my husband 9 years ago. I was about 130 lbs and the smallest I have ever been in my adult life. I currently weigh in at 203 and am 5' tall/short. I have a pear shape and I hate feeling my rear moving on it's own- Oh My! It's like it has it's own mind sometimes and I'm ready to get rid of as much as I can to get back to feeling comfortable in my own skin.

Lovinmom -- I started eating better during my last pregnancy (had Logan this March) because of high blood pressure and because I was already so large for my frame and I was able to only gain a few pounds and that was right at the end of the pregnancy. I still had my ice cream and sweet tea though and that is what's getting me now... How far along are you?

geezabobs -- I also loathe exercise. Especially in the heat of summer. It's hard enough to get motivated ot finish my housework on top of being mommy. What type of activity are you thinking about starting?

Angela lee --Are you leaning toward any specific plan?

Hi, Sweet tea, my sister asked me join the fitness club with her ... oh, it's easy for her because she only weight 120 lbs, but I weight 220 lbs (I'm 5"6) I'm so afraid how people look at me in the gym. I'm planning to start skipping rope at my basement ... maybe it sound very childlish, but I read some books and it said skipping rope is a very good excerise to lose weight. At least I think it's better than jogging and running outside, it's a good start for us who hate excerise.

Hello to all I can relate I am 35 and I am 130 pounds over weight. Looking for a good support group. My problem is that I have limited income to keep me from joining any thing locally. I have done the Zone diet I lost 50 pounds and then I fell off the wagon and I gained back 20 needing help to get back into the swinng of things. HAs any one tried the Walk away the pounds they are my favorite.

Hi,

I am 33 and new to this site too. I really need a support system to help encourage me on my weight loss journey. I started 3 weeks ago and have lost 6 lbs but need some new buddies! I have 3 kids, twin 10yr old boys and a 5yr old dtr. I joined a gym but am putting off going til the kids are back in school. I have been walking them to their school to ride their bikes and walk around the track while they speed around.

I have high blood pressure and have had many surgeries following having my twins. I really want and need to feel better about my body as I am worried about health issues. I would be a great buddy for anyone or group as I am upbeat and ready to get this weight off myself.

I have a friend who lost 175lbs with Dr. Phil's book and she tells me all the time to take baby steps and to not have an "all or nothing" attitude. So, for now that is what I am doing...celebrating small successes. 6lbs doesn't sound like much, but when I look at those gooey fat rolls they always show on t.v., it is a pretty big chunk of me off. I will be happy with that for today.

Have a great day!

Shelly
