I'm new to this site but not to dieting! I'm a 46 yo diabetic, and wife and mom to 14 yo daughter. My family is sooo supportive of my efforts. I saw my Dr. last week and I am going to try to get this thing under control.

So, it's been a week and I haven't lost a pound. What I have done is cut out all starch (potatoes, rice, bread, etc.) and all sweets. I am drinking at least 64 oz. of water and have cut out diet coke. This is realllll big for me!!! So, today I am writing down everything I put in my mouth on FitDay. This is the point where I would get frustrated and throw in the towel. I'm not going to do it this time. My blood sugars are much better, so something is working. I am loving this site. I am looking for encouragement. I'm an RN, love scrapping and gardening. Anybody want to be an accountability partner????
