Hi Kim! I've been cruising around this site for a while but just recently started posting. I am ready to get serious. Like you I have 3 children. I am divorced and going to school full time to complete my bachelors in education. Needless to say, stress is a major factor in my weight but I am dedicated now. I plan on buying a gym membership. I bought a month long one before but after the month I didn't go. So now I'm going to buy a yrs so I will go because I don't want to waste the money!
I have tried WW before also. I found it too difficult to count the points. When your a busy person like me it is too time consuming to do. But I have definitely seen a lot of success stories from it. No one diet is good for everybody I guess. I am just concentrating on the fact that if you move more and eat less you will lose weight. I am attempting to stick to a 1400 cal diet and will be starting my walking tomorrow. I have a 4 mile walking route that I like to take.
I guess this whole dieting thing is mind over matter. I'm just trying to get my mind in sync with the rest of my body. And isn't it hard having kids at home? Especially ones that don't have any problems with their weight? Keeping junk out of the house is a big obstacle for me. So now I still buy their little treats but I make sure that I buy things that I do not eat like fruit roll ups, gushers, fruit snacks, etc.
I would love to continue communicating with you and give each other support and encouragement. It's a lot easier when you have someone that is dealing with the same struggles. Good luck with the rest of your weight loss journey and I hope to hear from you soon.
Amy
