My Dr. suggested that I weigh myself everyday and keep a calender tracking my weight right above the scale. She suggested this so I get use to my body's changing weight through the month so I dont get dissapointed when I don't "loose" weight.
For example, yesterday morning I weighed 210 lbs. This morning I weighed 205!!!! The reason for this is I ate some heavy fried foods over the weekend and retained the water weight (watch your sodiu m intake girls!). Since it has been a few days, I would say that the 205 is more my correct weight. Anywho... just a thought I wanted to share. |
Hey ladies! Apparently I fell off the face of the planet, but I'm back. I'm still working out every night (except when I'm out of town). My DH is helping his parents move this week, so I stocked the fridge with healthy organic food that I like. I'm still trying to drink my 8 glasses of water every day (and I have a bottle of water at my desk staring at me now). I haven't seen the scale move much, but this morning I put on a pair of pants for work, and I couldn't wear them. They were way too big. I looked like a little kid wearing my mom's clothes for dress up time. Normally I would wear pants that are a little loose, but these have me penguin butt. (you know, when the crotch hangs down too low and you have to walk like a penguin) So that was a refreshing sign. I'll have to celebrate this weekend by buying some new pants! YEA!

fell of the wagon last night when my mom invited us over for pizza! I LOVE CHEESE!!!! I had 5 slices (over the course of two hours) and way blew my calories for the day. But... I wasent "stuffed", more full (like an 8 on a scale of 1-10) *big sigh* One of the things i need to staw away from!

Hey, I'm 24 and just had my son 2 months ago. I'm having a problem getting the baby weight to go away. I'm currently 170 and want to be 120. I'm starting my diet tonight, and will probably be exercising to the television (Firm videos) since I can't get to the gym. It would be awesome to have someone that is looking to lose about the same amount of pounds...what type of diet are you going to try?

I'm just doing the old fashion low cal, low fat w/ daily exercise thing. The way I've always thought about weight loss is input, output. If you eat less calories than you use, you'll lose weight. That seems logical right? I just have to make sure to input the right amount! It seems like I'm either putting in to much or not enough. It takes a little calculation. But all diets do. (If anything, by calculating your weight loss)

Well said kellbee! I am through with fad diets and reading every other contradicting article about diet and fitness. When it comes down to losing weight, it's about expending more calories than you consume. I've tried every diet out there from shakes to low-fat to low-carb to no-carb and the only sure way that I've lost weight is to eat healthy well balanced meals with snacks in between. A great website that I enjoy is www.mayoclinic.com. There are many experts and dieticians who know what they're talking about as well as great health tools and calculators for you to use! I started my diet at the beginning of this year, so it's been about 5 months now. I bought an elliptical machine (the Eclipse 1100HR by Fitness Quest for about $350). It's not the greatest elliptical out there, but for the price I paid, it'll do for now. I've only worked out intensively on the elliptical and walked/hiked whenever I can. I guess this explains why I've hit a plateau, my body has just adapted to the workout on the elliptical. I must say, I have kept a journal of every time I worked out and when I look back on it, I'm amazed at how far I've come. When I first started my exercise regimen, I couldn't go 20 minutes (burning 150 calories) on the machine without feeling winded. I can now go 70 minutes (burning up to 760 calories) during a workout! It feels great to be in shape, but it's time to add strength training and diversify the workout to keep losing. (Oh, I also try to work out 5-6 times a week and have been pretty diligent -- minus spring break, mini road trips, that TIME OF THE MONTH, etc ;) ) Best of luck and I'll talk to you soon!! :) |
Hmmmm.... I seem to have lost a total of 10 pounds this week. I am a little skeptical since I haven't done anything to help this along. Must be some water weight. Let's all cross our fingers and hope that it doesnt come back next week!!!!

I am 23 and have 18 pounds to lose. I love the encouragement on this thread! I am also doing the low-fat, low cal thing, and exercising-- I am running three miles at least 5 days a week, and do some weights and yoga too. When I need to change it up i ride my bike. So keep up the good work ladies, let's help each other look great this summer! |

I'm so happy my little girl slept all night for the first time she is 1 and 3 days. I was so hard because she was bf and it was so hard getting her off the stress made me gain 2lbs but i know once i completly dry out i should lose some weight because of that let see what this week brings me

Hi all,
I'm new to 3FC and I joined for the support that everyone seems so willing to share. I've lost about 30 lbs since the first of the year and 20 of that has been in the last 6 weeks. I've been using weight watchers, which i love. I also get out and walk about 6 days a week, i had been going to the gym, but now that school's out i'm walking on the track up the street or following the bike path in my neighborhood. I also do yoga and pilates when i'm in the mood for it. If anyone has done the winsor pilates, you can understand what an accomplishment it is when i say i can now do the jack knife and the roll over without too much hardship. At any rate, that's enough about me. It's great to hear how successful all of you have been and to know that there are other people out there who are like me. So keep up the good work and best wishes to all. |

Don't worry if things aren't going exactly as you'd like, we all stumble sometimes. Just remember that one slip up doesn't mean that things are never gonna get better. Last friday i had 4 pieces of pizza for dinner. I felt like ***, then i got up and walked an extra mile the next two days. I've been doing well since then. I hope things are going well for you other than that. Shennan, I'm scared of you. I've tried Tae Bo and Billy Blanks scares me with his spandex pants. I admit it's a good workout, but i was always getting distracted by all the shiny spandex. Hope everyone else has had a good weekend. |
Hello ladies. I'm going to start couch to 5k in the morning and I'm going to try to do my tae bo strength dvd. Then Tuesday I plan on my Tae Bo energy. So I'll post either way so if I don't do it I hope everyone will give me crap.... well I'm off to do my evening walk(at least I haven't given up on that)

OMG!!!! I saw it at the midnight show Wed night and then again last night!!!!!
Then we went home and watched Episode IV (The orginial Star Wars). I will never look at Darth Vader the same way again. He will never again be to me an evil person. He is truly a Jedi at heart - he is just lost in the dark. Aniken broke my heart and I cried the last 30 minutes of the movie. TWO enthauastic thumbs up! |
Well I did it I got up at 5 (that's early for me) and started couch to 5k and I feel good.

It was more like all week I think it was all of the crap I ate last week. Bola81 congrats on the 2 lbs and BF. My daughter is almost done I think last night was her last night so we'll she how she does. Shennan, I think Ani was pretty HOT (pardon the pun) in this one, I guess I've always like the bad boys. Well I happy your little one is almost over ia had to give at least once for two nights until she got use to the bottle i put some mexican strawberry quick in it for flavor i guess it better tasting than mama's that quick has more vitamins it even smells. well have a good day t1iffany let's see what this week bring us

I looked up that program today and it looks pretty cool! I think I will join you in the goal to become a runner! Last night I did 20 min on the treadmill and this morning I did the same (both one mile). I do a walk run routine anyway, so I cant wait till I can run an entire mile or 3 without stopping!!! |

HELLO LADIES Billy kicked my A$$ this morning I did the Basic Training one (BOOT CAMP BILLY) I thought I was back in basic training again (without the nasty T.I.) I'm doing good with the exercise, now I have to kick my nasty little eatting habit so I guess I have to put myself on a diet I MUST say BYE to SUGAR if I'm going to lose weight. I'm going to wait a week before I weight in it's been 24 a little over hours since my daughter last nursed so we're done kinda a sad day for me, but I hope I lose 7 pounds like when my son was done nursing.
SHENNAN yeah for the run/walk if you feel like running/walking go for it that's what I do your body will let you know if you're not up to it, but sometimes you just have to tell your body to shut up and push on and do the exercise as a wise man (Billy Blanks)LOL once said " your are in control of your body, it does what you tell it to do" Well good luck and I'm proud of you I can't wait until we're running marathons Because we are proud strong women who can do whatever we set our MINDS to do,Not our body's WELCOME LunaValkryie I hope you join us on our journey to becoming happy healthy women good luck and hope to hear from you ALL soon PS Sorry if any typos or misspelled word my 1 year old was helping |

I know what you mean on the first 24 hrs you feel bad and depress becuase You think she needs you but as you know it WILL gwt easier can i ask you something when you took your son off did he start to throw alot of fits daisy is and i hug and tell her everything will be okay but you sometime that does not help. I am doing basic boot camp and ab boot camp i did both viedos last night so i was proud of my self. |
