In need of buddy!

  • I am 23 yrs. old, recently married and moved to Canada...am unable to work at this time, and trying to take this time to make some life changes. At my heaviest a couple months ago I was 250lbs. and am currently at 239 with another 87lbs to go. As well as trying to lose the weight, I am trying to kick the nasty habit of smoking. I am looking for someone to help keep me motivated as well as share ideas on food and exercise and what works for them. If you are interested in helping each other get started and stay on track...Id love to hear from you.
  • I would love to be your buddy. My weight stats are really close to yours. I am also ready to lose this weight - but, I know it's a long journey. But it will be worth it. I am trying to be good - I am starting my 5th week of dieting and so far losing about a pound a week. I have been walking on a treadmill and today I took my toddler and we walked around the block - not far, but I am out of shape. I HATE exercise. But, I know I have to do it. I live in NC and have 3 children...10 and 7 and 2. Hope to talk to you soon!
  • Hey ladies- looks like im in your same boat minus the kids. My weight loss goals are close to yours plus i just started a couple of weeks ago myself. Im currently doing WW online and working out when i have time. Im from Colorado. Hope to hear from you guys.
  • Am I alone in this....I was really "astounded" to face my weight. It's like I didn't "see" it and never imagined I weighed so much. I used to be lean and mean - graduated USCG boot camp - and ate my way to this point. But, I just didn't notice my weight - unless I would see pictures and even then, like Oprah says, I did not own it. Were you guys always real with it or did it surprise you? I am also doing WW online and they say first goal is 10% which would be 207 for me. So...now that I own it, I am ready to beat it!
  • Hi and welcome to the board! I'm not in the same situation (no children here) nor having the same amount of pounds to shed, but I'm always willing to exchange "tips and tricks", so to say

Marquetho - I think I see what you mean. I've always been overweight since i'm a child, too, so I guess I was just "used" to be fat on top of it. Then when I started piling more pounds on again, it just didn't dawn on me at all, I was still seeing myself as "a little overweight, but not too much". When the blindfold falls from your eyes though... ouch, the shock.
  • Hi Marquetho, Girly2004, & Kery,
Its wonderful to hear from all of you and I look very much forward to having all of you as my buddies. The battle of the bulge is definately a struggle and I sure hope that I can help you and vice versa.
Marquetho your not alone in how you feel....I have struggled with my weight since I was young and always knew that i needed to work on it, Id go up and down with my weight, dieting and exercising off and on. Then when I got married in October I looked at the pictures and I was shocked..I didnt realize that I looked as overweight as I had felt. Since coming to the realization of it, I now know that I need to get my butt into gear, and do something about it.
I look forward to sharing this experience with all of you, to keep each other motivated and encourage one another and hopefully share some tips and secrets. I constantly check my email and also use Yahoo Messenger so feel free to message me via that.
    Be a Wonderful Day ladies!!!!

  • Hi there! I started out weighing a little more than you (256). Take things one day at a time and know that we all mess up from time to time. My problem right now is portion control at supper time! Good luck to you!

  • Hey ladies! Its been a great day. Got on the scale and lost 1.5 pds without any exercise just diet modification. This week im gonna work on the working out aspect. But hey at least its a start.

  • Hi ladies. I am totally new to this website and amazed at its scope. I've been paying for SBD online for almost a year and hardly used it after the beginning. At that time I had a buddy I was in close touch with daily and it was W O N D E R F U L. I need you all.
