Hi there,
Well, first off, I would get myself into some type of Acitivities, maybe even something fun with your kids, like taking walks or bike riding? Then I would look at my eating habits. See where your going wrong? Try to slowly remove bad things from your lifestlye and incorporate more fruits and veggies. Try to make a healthy list and stick to it when you grocery shop. Drink lots of water, and Im sure you stay busy with your kids, but staying active is Key. You burn more calories and keep your mind busy also!!! Try to make it a family thing, so that you're not just helping yourself, but also teaching your family good eating habits. Dont try to starve yourself, take baby steps. You didnt put the weight on overnight, so its not gonna come off like magic. But dont make the mistake of starving or taking these pills or magic diets you see on tv... Work at your own pace so that you can stick to it!! You will notice as you start to take healthier steps that thing will turn around for you!!!
Im here if you ever want to chat!!! Best of Luck

Hey girl! Sorry...we had a bit of a crisis at my house earlier. Anyway, do you have some sort of a plan in mind? I agree with Jewels...activity is key.

Love,
Deanne

I do plan on walking everyday for at least 30 min to 1 hour a day but what I think I really need to know is how to eat the right things and how much I should eat.

Hey Curvychick!

I know how you feel--helpless, confused, overwhelmed. But just know that you can make positive changes and feel good about it! Jewels makes some great suggestions. When I first started this journey, the first thing I did was make a conscious effort to not stuff myself at any meal. Then I started incorporating new things. I took a few days to figure out my game plan with recipes, snack ideas and stocked up on water. Plus I bought myself a notebook to journal every day how I am feeling. I think it also helps to actually write what you eat. Also, I stock up on sugar free gum. I am a gum store now! Instead of munching--I reach for some minty gum. Also, I think it helps to plan to eat every few hours--that includes breakfast, mid-morning snack, lunch, mid afternoon snack and dinner. If you are like me and stay up late--I usually have to have a late evening snack. Although, it is recommended by many to not eat after a set time--like 7PM. But I find that really hard when I tend to stay up till 2am. You have to find what works for you. Eating small meals all day keeps you from feeling too hungry and reaching for the wrong foods. Not too mention when you are really hungry your metabolism slows down and holds on to all the food you eat at your next meal. So I like to think of it as keeping fuel in the fire.

Deanne and I have been chatting on another thread--perhaps you would like to join us? The more the merrier! It helps to talk to others--support is a huge piece in this journey. You are not alone! Lean on me anytime.

Hey Deanne--maybe we should start a support thread on the support boards and name it something for anyone who wants to join a support group--call it Curvy Vixens or something? I dunno--just thinking. Does anyone else out there want to join a group?

Chat w/ you more later.
