Default mom with 40 pounds to lose - looking for a buddy

Hello everyone!
My name is Julie, I'm 29, have a hubby and two kids (girl - 5 months old, boy - almost 3 years old). Oh - and I work full time.

I am struggling to lose weight! I've lost about 15 pounds already and have about 40 more to go. I'm looking for a buddy in a similar situation (i.e., working mom, about the same amount of weight). Hopefully there is someone out there who would like to help encourage, motivate, and give a good kick in the pants every now and then. :-)

I would like to email on a daily basis and/or chat online. Other than that, just looking for a friendly co-loser, and someone who won't be afraid to tell me get off my butt as needed!

Hi Julie,
I'm Christi. I am 29 years old with a 2 year old son, but I am a stay at home mom and student. I also would like to lose 40lbs. I would like to buddy up if you are intersted, maybe we can motivate and help eachother out.

Hey Christi!
Being a student can be just as hard (or harder) than working! I don't know how I'd go back to school now... It was hard enough when I had just a husband. :-) otoh, I'd love to go back school, I'm just not sure what I'd study. I'm ready for a career change! Isn't it sad to be saying that at the ripe old age of 29?

I've love to buddy up! Do you have a plan for losing weight? I'm determined to do it the old-fashioned way, but sometimes I get really discouraged. I'm trying to get on the treadmill 3 times a week and do some strength training twice a week. I do it all at home after the kids go to bed, which is nice - but it's also easier to NOT do it then. Easier to just sit and watch tv. Also, I am still nursing my daughter, so I have to be careful not to cut calories too much. Luckily, she is starting solids now, so it is becoming less of an issue.

Anyway, my goal is to reach my target weight of 160 (I'm 5'10") by my 30th birthday on September 3. Scale still read 200 lbs this morning; hopefully it will start going down again soon! Thanksgiving really did me in...

Anyway, tell me a little about yourself. If you're interested in taking this to regular email, send me a private message and I'll give you my email address and/or AIM username.

Cool! Thanks! And I look foward to losing with you!

Julie

Default Hi!

Hi! It's wonderful you have already lost 15 pounds! I need to lose about 30 pounds and firm up the jiggly areas. I am the mother of 3 year old twins (girls) and work part-time. I think one of my biggest problems is staying motivated - so it would be a big help to be able to check in with someone daily to help get my butt moving! Let me know if you want to hook up.
