Red face Oops!

I just wrote a whole post and pressed enter and....I guess I wasn't logged in and lost it all. So...here goes try #2...

(Please let this work )

Ok...I'm new...found the board today and it looks amazing. I hope I learn a lot here and meet some great people too.

My Story...

About 1 year ago...last July I decided to change...I was 286 and size 22/24 I'm now 218 and size 16/18...Im 5'9 BTW. I lost what I have so far with portion control and exercise. My problem now is that my body has decided it likes to linger at 220 and after months I finally pushed under the 220 mark. I live in fear (lol) that I won't keep losing. I need a buddy! I would like to get to 199 just to kiss that "2" GOODBYE! Then...go from there.

A bit about me....I live in California but originally from UK...I'm 34 (don't feel a day over 18 ) I've been married 15 years and we have 3 children 14, 11, and 4. I'm a stay at home mom (that soooooo needs a better title) and hubby is in law enforcement (watch out! )

I'm a little bit of a loopy nutjob (in a "good way" ) and I have a giant, good HEART ...
Things I like...

Hanging out with my family, driving with loud music (favs are rock, hip-hop and r&b...but i'm pretty eclectic), dancing, watching reality tv, reading, laughing, anything artsy, shopping for clothes, spoiling myself with a manicure, coffee! , and living in denial that I am already 34...so far it is working for me

Hi Angelic,

You sound like a lot of fun. Anyone who's a little loopy is alright by me

Congrats on the weight loss. That is fantastic. I have been battling for yrs, but now something has clicked and I just want it gone. I've been losing slowly since april. I've really increased my exercise. Something I'm quite proud of

A little about me. Married at 17 to the same guy I love today, 27 yrs later. My best friend. I'm 44 now, but I too was a stay at home mom until I was 35 and then I entered the work force for the first time in my life. I've got 3 sons
21,22, & 25. Who love their mother soooo much they won't leave. Pretty much a great life. Not money wise, but good. I also love loud music in the car. Rock, alternative or what ever I'm in the mood for. Coffee and mani/pedicures are my indulgence. Spend way too much on it. I am almost out of the 22 and into 20's. My dream is also to drop below 200 for the first time in yrs. I have a long way to go. But ready stories like yours, I know it's possible.

So nice to meet you. Look forward to hearing from you soon and good luck and continued success with the weight loss! ttyl

Hey Donna

Well you sound like a fantastic person to share with. We do have some things in common that's for sure.

How exciting that you will be dropping a size soon. That is the thing that makes me feel the most happy when it happens. I still go reaching for the 24's in stores and then let off a big "DUH!" in my head. I'm sure 16/18 seems large to some people...but coming from a 24 it sure looks great to me. It's funny about the coffee and mani/pedis...big time indulgences...I guess they ended up replacing chocolate

So how are you losing? Portion control was the best for me since I have to cook for a family, there was no way I was going to make a seperate meal for myself or make them eat "diet" food. I like it too, because I do not feel deprived. I just don't do "seconds"...or binge like I did way back when. Seems like another person now that so much time has passed. I exercise with a bike and a treadmill....and I also do long walks with my youngest daughter. Plus the normal everyday activities.

I know you probably won't like me saying this....I didn't and still don't when people say it to me...but it is true. It is so good to lose the weight slow....I think it stays off better, that's for sure. I did lose fast at first but now have a small amount of loose skin probably because of that. I'm hoping that improves...if not...a few years down the road I may consider a tummy tuck. It isn't so bad though...no one would ever notice but me except for the fact that I seem to declare it as though I have a big secret.

I'm really glad you replied I hope we can help each other some way. Feel free to vent, celebrate...whatever....I'll gladly join you

Oh...another question. Do you do a weekly weigh-in? I do for myself every Sunday. Last month I lost 6 total which was a great month for me. I have a goal of 4 for this month. My losses are very very very slow now....I don't mind....as long as they are losses. I'll get there eventually.
