Default newbie

Hey! I've recently found out that 90% of the people in my life don't want me to lose weight, so I'm turning to the internet for support. I could use all the help I can get, suggestions are welcomed I'm pretty new at this whole dieting thing too, I know how things work, and why, but who knew getting started, and staying with it was so damn hard!

Why doesn't anyone want you to lose weight? Are you at a healthy weight? Or, did you ask for their opinions? I think if the latter is the case, people feel obliged to say you look great rather than understanding that the most supportive thing they can do is to ask how they can help or if they can join you. Maybe you should just tell them you're going on a health kick, because in the end, what's the difference? You're eating healthy and exercising, right?

I don't have that particular problem. After gaining a bunch of weight while pregnant, everyone is waiting for me to lose enough weight to stop wearing maternity clothes.

Good Luck!!!!!

Default sugar is evil!

I found out when I went on a quitting sugar thing, and when a friend was eating cookies, I said no, and get this, she actually tackled me to the ground and shoved the cookie into my mouth. A little insane! I probably expect too much as well But I am going on a health kick, I saw "Supersize Me", and quit eating fast food, and vowed to cut out the majority of sugar in my life. Just watching what all that sugar and McDonald's food did to that guy was a total eye opener!

I need to lose about 80 to 100 pounds. I'm currently 5'7" and 249 pounds, and would like to get to about 155-160 pounds. I know I couldn't get under 140 pounds, I used to swim 4-5 hours a day when I was younger and never got below 150 pounds.

Thanks for the reply, definitely gives a girl something to think about

Default Welcome

Maybe the reason no one wants you to lose weight is that they will be jealous, it's sounds wierd but sometimes the people who love you the most can be your worse emeny. Remember you DO NOT answer to them. Either they are with or against you, but only you cand choose to listen to them or your heart. Know that if they do not support you they will give you ****, and you may even have to stay away from them for awhile and if they want to know why tell them that it is because they do not respect your decision and you choose to stay away until you are strong enough to stand firm against them. Anyway good luck and God Bless.
