I just found 3FC and think it's a wonderful idea! I wish I'd discovered it long ago, but I probably wasn't ready then. I'm ready now to make a change in my lifestyle. I'm tired of being fat and tired all the time. Changes are coming soon to my personal life, I'm buying my first house at age 46, so I thought this makes the perfect segue into other changes, starting with my eating habits.
I'm a total carboholic. Sugar and starchy foods like potatoes are my personal sirens. I heed their call whenever I make choices about eating. I realize that this has to stop or at least slow WAY DOWN. I have friends who are either on Atkins or Weight Watchers, but neither of those approaches appeal to me. I have been reading about the South Beach diet and it seems like a likely plan for my lifestyle. Not too extreme and not too expensive to put into operation.
I would appreciate hearing from others who are in the same boat I am or who are already participating in the SB diet. I am also open to other suggestions for reducing or curing my addiction to carbohydrates.
