Hi! My dad has diabetes

  • My dad is 73 years old. He has type 2 diabetes since last year. I've been reading about this forum for a few days now (newbie). My dad takes two Glucophage per day, he doesn't check his sugar at all but walks for 3-4 miles everyday and eats pretty normal except once in a while he drinks red wine and has one latte every day. Yesterday he was complaining about thirst so I checked his sugar which came out to be 26 (I didn't know that this is the level) then it went down to 18 and after some time it went to 13 mmol/L. He had a GP appointment on Monday where they advised him to check his blood sugar twice a day and adjust medicine accordingly. I saw him yesterday evening, he checked sugar which was fine (around 9). After the dinner he took his medication but now I'm worried about him as when he came back from hospital today morning his sugar level was 24 mmol/L after the meal (he's been to the GP again and they gave him more medicine). His mum is monitoring his blood sugar overnight. He hasn't had any other symptoms like headache or tiredness. What do you think, should I call emergency now? Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks.

  • Hello. Sorry to hear that. Honestly, I don’t really know what to do in such situations. I recently found Omega XL reviews and I’m thinking about starting to take vitamins. I’m also thinking about finding vitamins for my friend who has diabetes. He also has type 2 diabetes, but I don’t know what to do when his blood sugar rises or drops. Maybe I should talk to him about this topic.
