Turning 30 & Done Feeling Shell-y

  • I've had weight problems all of my life. Before I had my son (pictured), I was in a healthy place--even if the scale didn't reflect it! Standing 5'6 tall, I was a size 6/8, and I could run several miles; I weighed 175 lbs.

But I ballooned up during pregnancy to over 285 lbs (now a size 18). It's been a struggle since then. Now that my son is almost 2 years old, he's so much more active and loves spending time outside. I want to be able to be a more involved mom because he (and I) deserve better than what I am today. I'm ashamed how easily I get tired or out of breath trying to keep up.

Earlier this week I decided to make some changes. This is the fifth day in a row that I've worked out for at least 20 minutes a day. As I get ready to turn 30, I'm ready to fully commit to saying goodbye to my former shell!

I'm hoping that being apart of this community will (1) keep me accountable, and (2) keep me motivated by seeing everyone's journeys and successes!

  • Well done, best of luck to you!
  • Good Luck hun!
I know the feeling. I was a size 10-12 before I had my son and I ballooned to a size 22 of baby weight and went straight back into my size 12 jeans.
Sadly with my daughter it wasn't so easy and here I am a size 18 still and she is almost 9 now so I think I have procrastinated enough!

Good luck! and I look forward to taking the journey with you! x
