Default Evening snacker needing help

I feel like a new attendee at an AA meeting. I have always felt that I was overweight, but when I look back at old photos in my 20s I was probably average wt. Now 30 years later I weigh about 50 lbs more and look like a whale. I know what constitutes healthy eating but my downfall is evening snacking. Help- anyone out there been able to find something healthy to munch on and still lost weight?
I realize that I need to start slowly a day at a time and enjoy the small successes. I am trying to stick with low carb and 1200 calories, with addition of exercise- whenever I can find a few minutes......

Hello and welcome!

What you snack on really depends on what works for you and what you like. For example, my friend loves low fat dairy like cottage cheese or yogurt, and she loses weight. Right now I'm liking fruit and a spoonful of peanut butter. Some people might do half a turkey sandwich or a bunch of fresh green beans. There's not really a magic number - it's just what makes you feel full and what you like or accept eating.

There's a lot of good information here in the archives and in the people still around. Feel free to dive on in!
