Default at my largest and ready to down size

Hello everyone i stumbled upon this site and am looking forward to changing my life for the better. Today I tipped my scale at my highest weight 302 pounds. It shouldn't really have been a shock, with how ive been taking care of myself well not taking care of myself that is. Today is the day i start really trying instead of all my failed attempts and giving up. Me and my husband decided we want to start trying to have children next year and i really want to be in better shape before tying to conceive. Im going to start by counting calories, drinking more water and teas and less soda, i also want to take my pets on at least 3 walks out of the week. if anyone has any advise id love to hear it! i also have hypothyroidism if any one has advise with that id also love to hear it!

It all begins with 1 change at a time. Drinking more water is a great start. I too, have hypo...been on synthroid for almost 27 years. So long as you take it, hypo will not impact you losing weight. Best wishes!

I'm going to be starting my thyroid medication I hear that taking it helps with fixing metabolism is that true in your case?

I climbed over 300 with the helping hand of Prednisone. Oh man, can you believe it? I got 40 lbs off and then ... had some Prednisone again. And then, I just sort of gave up trying everything and watched 300 return and go away. I'm sitting now at 317 and I can't stand that I am at that number. OMG! Really!??!
So, with my Kaiser Medical Weight Management team, and the support from here I really hope to successfully shed 150lbs!! I know I can do this. This is not an insurmountable goal! You can do it too.
