Hi everyone! This is my first time joining a weight loss forum but it must be my millionth time trying to lose weight. I've been successful with losing at points but I always gain the weight back. In the past I've focused on eating as little as possible rather than truly changing my habits. I'm trying to focus now on eating nutrient rich food. I have to say I enjoy the way this food makes me feel, but I am really struggling right now dealing with how my obesity has limited me.
I am not the heaviest weight I've ever been, but as of now this is the first time I am starting to see how my extra weight is effecting my health. And it is scary! I'd like to say that it motivates me to do something different, and although that is true to an extent, mostly it is just overwhelming.
I tried to go on a hike yesterday and within a quarter mile my lower back was absolutely killing me. I could barely make it home. It was so discouraging. I wanted to get out there and get some exercise but my obesity literally stopped me in my tracks.
If anyone has any guidance, suggestions, wise-words, experience overcoming similar obstacles I would so appreciate hearing it! Thank you for taking the time to read this and I look forward to conversations with some of you in the future!
And Way To Go on getting moving toward improved health.
Just take things a little at a time. Modifying the diet is a more important part of weight loss anyway. How about shorter walks more frequently? Or repetitive movements or weights while seated? Pool exercises are great, if you have one near.
Keep snooping around the forum...I'm sure you'll find lots of good suggestions.
