Thank you for the welcome, Misti!
My doctor is aware of my weight loss efforts and is being very supportive. I'm fortunate to have found a doctor that understands weight loss-related struggles.
I have a degree in Nutritional Sciences, although I decided to take a different path career-wise.
My food plan is based on a 1000 Calorie diet. I do not eliminate any foods. Rather, I focus on nutrient-dense foods with the goal of getting plenty of protein, 25-30g of fiber, calcium, beneficial unsaturated fats, etc. This is not easy to do in a 1000 Calorie diet, which is why I wouldn't recommend anyone attempt this without consulting a nutrition professional.
Exercise-wise, I'm extremely out of shape. So, for now, I take daily walks around my neighborhood. I avoid steep inclines at this time, focusing on slowly increasing my fitness level. I am also slowly starting yoga again, something that I've been trained in previously.
That's it in a nutshell! My biggest struggle is managing expectations. Losing weight the healthy way takes time, but it's difficult to not want results quick, especially given my history.
